Nigerians deserve Oliseh's insults - Onigbinde says as he slams the coach

Former Super Eagles coach, Adeboye Onigbinde, says Nigerians deserve the insults hauled at them by Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh. Onigbinde said this while reacting to the Youtube videos Oliseh posted over the weekend, where he described his critics as Insane. He has however apologized for this. Onigbinde who spoke to Goal.com said;
"The first issue is about his appointment which he claimed he didn’t beg to secure, in other words, the NFF begged him. And I begin to ask what qualities did the NFF see in him and begged to have him lead the Super Eagles?
I still feel it is a big slap on the country to appoint a Nigerian or a foreigner who has never handled any club or a big team to handle the Super Eagles. That is an insult, and now the insult is now being complicated. Oliseh is now calling his critics insane. I watched the video and at a point was shedding tears for Nigerian football but we deserve it. Since he got this job, he has been going to Europe for treatment, shouldn’t the NFF have verified his health condition before appointing him. Now he has the gut to insult everybody. ‎Also talking about his experience, has he not shown inadequacy in this? For instance, see the way he handled [Vincent] Enyeama’s case. If Oliseh was intelligent enough, he could have commiserated with him first on the loss of his mother and Enyeama would have been worshipping him, but he wanted to be a boss. Have Nigerians forgotten that the national team broke down in Mali as a result of gross indiscipline under his leadership and now that is the kind of person NFF feels is good enough for the Super Eagles job. These are the questions we failed to answer before giving him the job and to some extent, he is right in throwing hot water on the faces of those who landed him the job. You can imagine a coach coming out a day to the commencement of the African Nations Championship that his players are not well fed and all that, what kind of result do you expect from that kind of coach? The question now is, will this not affect our chances in future competitions? Now we are causing more confusion and destroying the team further. That is in the hands of those managing Nigeria football. I have made several enemies speaking the truth. The fact is we have administrative problems bedeviling our football,” he said.

Hmm! Nigerian Football community and drama go hand in hand. One, because Nigerians are very impatient people, and two because there is a lot of politics in the NFA. But Oliseh messed up though with that video. I guess he is dealing with some personal demons in his personal life that we don't know about.

Oliseh has apologised and should be forgiven and he did not insult nugerians as such, i am wondering if all i am reading about Oliseh is from the same video. Onigbinde never speaks good of any nigerian coach but, i respect his opinoin.

Mr. Onigbinde, what did you achieve during your time? Were Supper Eagles performance better or worse under your watch? You need to answer this first before opening your gutter. Those who live in glass house should not throw stones

high chief onigbinde is always critical of other people but not himself. he took d super eagles (sorry, super chicken) to 2002 world cup n couldn't win a match after back stabbing amodu shuaibu. now, he is now joining issues with oliseh, maybe to lead a 3 wise men like d other time.

Unknown said...

Agree with him, oliseh didnt not in the first place deserved to be a super eagle coah

My thoughts exactly. I have lost interest in Nigerian football as a result of the players continuous ill performance. NFF made it worse by appointing Oliseh.

If the Super Eagles were or have won their matches I am sure Baba Onigbinde would not have all thses to say...where has he been that he did not point out all these since...mtcheew

Now to that Oliseh man, I used to gun for him then that nonsense that he posted was he high on something before he uploaded that video when he knew he would come back and apologise...U did not want the job you should have refused again them nor dey force person to take wetin he nor want..it was easy for you to manage games verbally on supersport come and do it in person now e pass am he is now misyarning....nonsense......ProudlyDeltan

Unknown said...

Onigbinde always on point... NFF is insulting Nigerians by given Super Eagles job to an inexperience coach, a once indiscipline stubborn player

Unknown said...

Oliseh must go##########

Unknown said...

I dey laugh.

correct agba awo....agba oni tan lori ile.........we all know the stuff oliseh is made of,,rude, arrogant, insolent, temperamental and unruly...i am not surprise,,shame on NFF and shame on all who want to destry our football

Unknown said...

I didn't like u when u were coach Onigbinde but what u said is on point. Oliseh is not the man at all,Nigerians 4get things or overlook things so easily.

I've had cause to question oliseh's leadership qualities too though, especially enyeama's case.

These are the words of an elder and words of a professional, words of wisdom. Nothing can be truer.

Eze Okeke said...

My worry is not his flippancy, but that somehow we have saddled ourselves with an absentee coach once again. Such had not paid us in the past and will definitely not improve our game now. We a resident coach who will be watching the local league to identify potential Kanus',Okochas' and the like.

Unknown said...

True talk sir

Unknown said...

I told my uncle that oliseh has temper issues when he was appointed but he said that's the kind of person Nigeria needs to open the can of worms in the Nigerian system.

Anonymous said...

Enter your comment...Good talk coach oni, Oliseh still have more to learn as Nigeria's chief coach

Unknown said...

I cannot agree with you less Chief Onigbinde. Honestly, Nigerians got what they deserved. I can assure you that more insults is going to come from so called best coach who has never handled a club or national team. Chief, with all your experience in the game, how do you measure a good coach? Is it by paper credentials or practical achievements. Keshi won the nation's cup, took us to the world cup and got to the final of CHAN yet he was not good enough in the eyes of Nigerians. Mark my words we will not qualify for the nation's cup.

Engee said...

True talk, oliseh had no previous experience in coaching still they gave him super Eagles coach work. On what bases were he given the job? Was it because he was running his mouth in super sports criticizing Kesh when he was coach? NFF una deserve oliseh. Meetchew
