According to a NIMASA official who revealed this to Premium Times, Akpobolokemi was arrested this morning at about 10am over allegations of misappropriation of funds during his tenure as the DG of the maritime agency
"He was taken in this morning around 10 a.m. Some of our other officials have also been summoned while EFCC operatives have been conducting discreet investigation here. There is tension everywhere. One of our people just returned from EFCC and he told me the former DG is still there, sweating profusely as he was being questioned by investigators." the source saidEFCC officials stormed the NIMASA head office and interrogated some officials over contracts awarded by Mr Akpobolokemi during the last administration
"For instance, they wanted to know how a whopping N13 billion was spent on the acquisition of land for the permanent site of the Nigerian Maritime University in Delta. They also asked about other transactions they believed were fraudulent, including transfers of millions of dollars from NIMASA accounts to other accounts.” the source addedAn official of EFCC who spoke on condition of anonymity confirmed Mr Akpobolokemi's arrest.
"I’m aware he is with us but I don’t have details about the case against him or what investigators are asking him,” said the official

DeleteArrests Arrests Arrests but no reasonable prosecution or conviction. Flagrant abuse of power and absolute disregard for the Rule Of Law. I can see that Buhari's fight against corruption is biased and lacking in merit. Or has any of these recent arrested individuals been charged to court yet. The answer is NO!
ReplyDeleteU r a fool...u wont arrest and probe before u convict?
DeleteWont u gather evidence to use in court?

ReplyDeleteThose who are saying salaries were owed during his tenure are big liars. NIMASA was reformed during his tenure as DG. We all know he was arrested because GEJ appointed him. Power is transient, even Buhari will not be in power forever. What he is doing to GEJ will be done to him in a million fold amen.
ReplyDeleteMr president don't jus go against Johnathan's cohorts! What about your APC national thief! Asiwaju? Or is he exempted because you're from the same political party?

Awon sentimental bishis!!!lol....most wont praise him now o...they will insult him still..delusional fools...u see reality and u still wont identify with it- keep fooling yourselves all d time! I feel for the few reasonable igbos as far as this politics is concerned.
If they spend N13 billion for only land then the university will never be built because they will spend N230 trillion for roads and buildings. They cannot even fund the Matitime Academy at Oron so what kind of insanity is this? Please abort the scam and recover our money.
ReplyDeleteJAIL IS BEST FOR HIM
ReplyDeleteI like this trend. Linda, please tell President Buhari that he should sack and arrest CEO of Financial Reporting Council next.
ReplyDeleteN13B for only land,GOD y na???y ds pipo dy thief lik ds n yet we wan work n hustle legitimately n yet nothing.they shld start firing squard for thieves lik ds,cos its worse than dos who go for bank robbery
