Police withdraws security men attached to Speaker, Tambuwal

The Nigerian Police Force have withdrawn the security detail of the Speaker of the House of Reps, Aminu Tambuwal, who recently defected from the PDP to APC. In a statement released few minutes ago on their official website, the Police said they withdrew Tambuwal's security because his recent defection flouts the 1999 constitution. Find the statement after the cut...

"In view of the recent defection by the Right Honourable Aminu Waziri Tanbuwal, CFR, the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, from the People Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressive Congress (APC), and having regard to the clear provision of Section 68 (1) (g) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has redeployed its personnel attached to his office.

  27. The list of lawlessness from this half baked PHD holder just keeps growing. The illegal removal of Justice Salami, the illegal removal of CBN Governor turned Emir of kano, the illegal detention of APC supporters before the governorship elections in Anambra, Ekiti and Osun States, the illegal sealing of the offices of a splinter group within the pdp (new pdp), the aiding of oil theft and public looting of our national resources. We have seen this type of power drunkenness before, and we remember how they all ended. Babangida and Obasanjo are still alive to attest to the fact that power is transit and what goes around, comes around.

  72. Nah not in support of the withdrawal of security men. It is wrong and simply abuse of power. Anyway Tambuwal wasn't loyal so he is just having a taste of the soup. (politics is a dirty violent game)

    ReplyDelete
  73. Stupid leadership of a stupid country, so it is the police force that now interpretes the constitution or determines if the action of the Number 4 citizen of the country is wrong and not the courts of law?, this is vey amusing, when Mimiko joined PDP it wasn't a problem, when Senators Joshua Dariye, Chris Anyanwu and co joined PDP from Labour Party and APGA, there was no noise, nobody threatened to declare their seats vacant nor was there any crisis on the floor of the Senate but the moment someone lives PDP, crisis ensues. Intolerant, petty, incompetent, dour, drab, colourless and silly leadership. instead of pretending like nothing happened, they are running up and down like headless chickens, the worst you can do is withdraw his security you cant remove him from office as you lack the required numbers. Mumu people, Boko Haram is on rampage without control, Kidnappers are busy collecting ransom our leaders are in Abuja doing nothing. Tompolo, Boyloaf, Ateke etc have scores of policemen attached to them, even Pastor Orisejafor but the Speaker's security were withdrawn because he changed party? I dey laugh

  81. It is so shameful that people rush to comment on every issues now.it is crystal clear that he is no longer the speaker.he became a speaker under PDP bcos they were in majority in the house.now that he has defected to a minority party,do the fools we have here expect him to still be the speaker?will that not be worse off on the constitution?the fact that linda has given us a platform to comment on issues is not enough to make statements you won't be proud of in a year's time.it is time linda starts screening unintelligent comments.tambuwal or drumbuwal, you seized to be relevant from the day u defected.

  82. Take it or leave Tambuwal is a smart, intelligent and charismatic politician with sagacity. He is poised to become the next Governor of Sokoto State and by them you will he will have his security again. His political mentor, Alhaji Magatakarda Wamakko is well loves in Sokoto, he is mass mobilizer with huge grassroots support that why PDP had to go and beg him to join them and yanked b the gubernatorial ticket from Shagari and gave him, that is why PDP sent a powerful delegation lead by that old fox Tony Anenih to beg him to return to PDP last week but he turned them down. You can't fight what God has ordained by God's grace we shall kick Jonathan out of that Presidential villa. Don't know how we came to this sorry pass. Stupid OBJ in his desperate bid to control the Presidency from Ota imposed this kinda spinless leadership on us. But we have had enough of PDP's failures. Even BlackBerry fails you try Samsung, if MTN fails you try Etisalat, if Omo fails you try Ariel. It is quite simple

  84. it just unfortunately for all this political play,i now realize how this country was run as if it was own by individual, was the police a property of PDP was it not own by the people of Nigerian, what is the concern of police with political party.i taught there work is to control and maintain law and order, come to talk about Tambuwal remove is total rubbish because it was not them that voted him to be come speak by law is only the member of the house that can remove him, when people join PDP there is not threaten but when people move from PDP to another there we be noise all over the places, where is the freedom of association,Jonathan should stop all this bad attitude

    ReplyDelete
  85. Result of politics without ideology in Naija. Politicians just float around, no direction, no enlightened citizens to check them. And I say to Tambuwal 'to whom so much is given. . .' You showed no character or leadership by this heating up of the polity. Boko Haram no heat reach? Personally, u no longer my speaker. Haba!

    ReplyDelete
  86. It is now a cliché, that the Muslims (especially of Northern extraction) are hell-bent on taking over the Centre from the Christians. I think it would have been more Honourable for Tambuwal to first of all resign – deflect - re-contest, and then if he wins, under his new Platform?? He would have given more credence to his reason for leaving the PDP (being the call by his people in Sokoto) and probably clear doubters and cynics lurking in the corner. But I think Lord Lugards Idea of a United Nigeria was Devilish (and must someday) be readdressed.
