I've been thinking of how to give back to you guys and decided maybe some money for Christmas will be appreciated. But the thing is, I don't know how to choose the 10 people to give it to. I know I definitely want Bonario to be one of them (if he needs the money) for being one of the most consistent readers and commenters here, I just don't know how to choose the rest. Can you guys suggest ways or maybe names?
I want to give the money out this weekend, so if you guys have any ideas on how I can go about it, (I want it to be fair and reach those who really need it) please share.

I would suggest that rather than ask your readers, most of whom already need the money, on how to go about your gift giving, you should rely on your deep/ reflective and internal feeling. There are many organizations like this in Nigeria that are concerned with the general well-being of the Nigerian populace. Linda, just ask questions about yourself. Must be things that you have posted or continuously post about yourself or questions that the answers would be obvious to those that read ur blog religiously. For e.g we all know what your favorite color is. Publish the time that you would post these questions and the 1st 9 people to answer all questions correctly will be the winners.
OR better yet. Have your trusted staff go out there and find 9 people who need are deserving of the money and give them a wonderful Christmas. I am pretty sure that it is not difficult to find families in need in Nigeria. You can even double the recipients by giving 50k each to 18 families.

Kudos Linda. Not a bad one. If I may suggest,you can ask a brain teaser,then choose the first 10 people to respond. The only flaw in this is that the comments takes ages to upload,so we can't really tell who answered first
Maybe, you ask questions whoever gets them right would qualify for a stage that would be done through ballot

Hello Linda, I am a student in canada and i look to your blog everyday for news about Nigeria. Thank YOU :). Oh and I don't need the money so this makes my advice easier(not being bias). I don't know if there is a way to do this. But if you can get the your viewer to tell you what they will be doing with the money(of course they will lie) but people should be using the money for gifts for the WHOLE family(my "whole" is in capitals because if the money is to be used on the whole family then the family is not that financially stable).
Another suggestion is if you can somehow get the financial position. That should make it better./
But then again I think it will be impossible to get these kinds of information......
My last thought is to just randomly pick.(if you can figure out consistent and humble comments from frequent "commenters". This should be the easiest way of doing it.(But you might not get to the people that need the money the most.)
Sorry if you take this advice the wrong way. But its just my thought.

This is the 1st time ever I'll be commenting here ever, and I must say I'm one of your most consistent readers; it's part of my morning ritual + anytime I get bored during the day.
But honestly the fact that people keep commenting shouldn't be a yardstick, other people with more hits on your blog just love to read their comments ;) cc PC, Bonario etc we have more than 10 consistent "commenters".
This is christmas period, no one wants to do a game or competition cos of busy schedules + u wouldn't have the time to organise one full fledged. I think you should just pick random digits no one else knows about, like they do in some shops; so maybe the 1st, 10th, 50th, 100th etc people to post a comment.
I'll be just as happy if anyone wins, it's the heart we appreciate more than the money.
