I've been thinking of how to give back to you guys and decided maybe some money for Christmas will be appreciated. But the thing is, I don't know how to choose the 10 people to give it to. I know I definitely want Bonario to be one of them (if he needs the money) for being one of the most consistent readers and commenters here, I just don't know how to choose the rest. Can you guys suggest ways or maybe names?
I want to give the money out this weekend, so if you guys have any ideas on how I can go about it, (I want it to be fair and reach those who really need it) please share.

Linda, i would like to think that your intention is to give 100k to 10 LIBers on a fair basis, not to students or those who are less privileged than others. A LIBer is a LIBer and you need each and every one of them. You may consider the following critera
1.Those who dont comment as anonymous, like me (i see so many new names today:-)
2.Early commentators and frequent ones. It shows that they are always checking for your updates.
3.Commentators who post fair and helpful comments - comments that show an understanding of the issue and try to proffer useful suggestions or encouragement.
4.As a wild card, you could add the person who has paid you the highest compliments - when you have posted several pics of you during outings or on your birthday.
Be sure to remix these criteria when you decide to do this again ;-)

How do you determine those under Anonymous? Some are more consistent than even Bonario.
Infact Anonymous peeps are more in comments than those with names. So you may have a problem with being fair.
Perhaps throwing a party for your readers might not be bad and then give gifts to Bonario and co that you can identify.

My suggestion is this: Engage us in questions that will instigate many comments then you pick the 100th, 200th, 300th, 400th, 500th, 600th, 700th and 800th 'commenters'. You could have your followers write a short essay on the social needs of Nigerians and at least one suggestion (and explanation) of how the government can meet at least one of these needs, enforce it and ensure the solution's continuity.

A lot of people would lie about reasons why they need this money, first to comment doesn't mean loyalty, and there are the ever commenting but anonymous ones. You could do the following
1. Do an audit and pick out the top 10 commentators (but that doesn't necessarily determine follower ship cos a lot like me comment anonymously and some prefer to just read and not comment at all)
2. a small competition where readers can answer questions about the blog
3. Give the monies to a charity home/orphanage/hospital/NGO etc. in honor of or in the name of the reader(s)am sure they would have a very merry xmas
just do a ballot of comments on any one of ur posts , as long as u post all d comments for that day including mine cos u hardly post my comments,that is fair enough
I think one of the only ways you can be fare is to conduct some sort of ballot/draw. You have as many religious non-commenting readers as commenting ones. Create some sort of link, where people can, maybe, respond to some form of activity, and then choose winners from the draw. My two cents.......

Your gesture is great, but I would rather you spend such a sum on charity. I personally am biased towards education. Why don't you look for one or two LGEA schools and buy some books for their library.
