You sound stupid. Babcock University is highly recognized all over the world. Their certificates are highly respected. You must be living in a cave to not know that.
The person might be going to cambridge or oxford u knoo so I dunno why every negative comment is about hating ! Some people are just SNOBS!! That's d word there ....
You're just ENVIOUS!!!! I bet you wish you were in her shoes......lol You're most likely not 'half' as educated as she is or you wont post such a silly comment that reflects a very low IQ,
Apparently you graduated from university decades ago (the '70's....if you did attend one) or you passed through the school and the school did not pass through you, else you'll know the global educational system evolves everyday to include more areas of academic research.
Apparently you've never left the shores of this country or you'll know it's cos of the very poor educational system in Nigeria we do not have more students like her in this country.
FYI: There are several students like her, some even younger in more developed countries.
PhD is fast becoming bastardized now in Nigeria? How possible is it to earn PhD degree without resounding track record and strong research. It is so hard to accept that one can bag such a degree without known meaningful contribution to the the Nigeria's business community.
Stop speaking heavy grammer jor! You dont need a resounding track record to bag a PhD. A PhD is actually a step to achieving all you are saying! I am a PhD student in the UK and i knw of couple of students that didnt even publish one paper but were awarded their degrees once the defended their thesis in their viva. Make educated comments my dear.
The poor educational system in Nigeria makes everyone think you need to 'slave away' under some lecturer for years.....to achieve a PHD or a Masters, it's sad....and they wonder why people who can afford it send their children abroad.
A PHD is just an extended research process is simple words for the person who posted that comment. (A VIVA IS NOT EASY)
hahahaha! just in case u are not aware Babcock University was awarded the best private uni in Africa. And for the person that said only in Nigeria i don't think u are learned at all.
Honestly I don't think this is news. Babcock no be school abeg..Make she go collect Phd for MIT then I go salute am.
On a serious note, why would anyone want to do a Phd at Babcock when you could have gone to reputable schools abroad with scholarship sef? There's something fishy about this story jor..Pass the mic mehn..
I feel a lot of pity for you, it's clear you want to be her!!!! It's really not your fault, it's the poor educational system in Nigeria that makes you think her achievement is impossible.

Dr Michael......it's really sad that you'll say such about a hard working young lady and you're also at a Christian university (though this is the 1st time in my life I've heard about Wheaton college :))
Are you familiar with the British educational system? Did you get your PHD in this century (if you have one)?
You must know the global educational system evolves everyday to include more areas of research. You also need to do some research before you post your comments so it's obvious they're written by a person who is educated.
PhD? very funny. Where is her strong research record? I swear to God almighty, she is not qualify to be called 100 level undergraduate in western world. well, congratulations. This is what the nigerian system of education is all about. Basterdised educational system. Unemployable phD holder.
Linda..........the illiteracy rate in 'educated' individuals in Nigeria is alarming!!! A young lady works hard and she gets this from her fellow Nigerians.
My dad got his PhD in engineering in the US 2 yrs after his masters. Still I question this her PhD, who was on her dissertation committee, what and where was her research conducted.

Two of the PhD fellows at the research lab I worked in when I was an undergrad got their PhD's before they turned 25. One was a white guy and the other African American. It is very possible. The average PhD is 5 yrs.
Lemme hint you a bit. In my Uni PhDs are for 3years. The first of which is an MPhil (Master of Philosophy). The remaining 2yrs r the research proper. so assuming she bagged her first degree at 21, a Phd at 25 is no biggie.

I have monitored this website and noticed a LOT of eastern nigerians are very bitter and hateful towards others who are not their tribesmen. It is very sad. Carry on the hate. And you wonder why you are the target of a lot of murdering groups. Sad
As much as I say congratulations I won't be surprised if her undergraduate years and her Masters was done at the same university. I still find it hard to rate graduates of these private institutions with instituÞions like UNILAG, UNIBEN, UI, OAU ife.
I will have been more impressed if a student was graduating in PHD from a Federal University at 25.
Please we all know what goes down in private unis! U dare come to unilag and ask for Summer!!!!na winter u go get, extra year tooh quality, seat n read!,plz am nt hating,am a graduate @ 22,and am serving now, its only realistic that if I decide to do my masters in unilag and also phd,I can't be done @ 25!!!,experience is key, u'l mentor under a lecturer, write ur research and thesis! And this has to be genuine, not some project googled up!....in this case, call me orthodox...but that's the way I see it.
Make up by Teju, you're most likely a 'victim' of the Nigerian educational system. If you had not attended Unilag or Maulag (which I guess you did, I wonder if you'll be a graduate now.
If you're familiar with the international educational standards at world renowned universities, you'll know with hard work and determination this is possible. IT'S A REGULAR OCCURRENCE FOR SOMEONE UNDER 25 EVEN TO HAVE A PHD, IT'S NOT ROCKET SCIENCE. (BTW at other schools around the world, resits during summer or extra credits are always offered as the system is about making the student better NOT a slave to the lecturer or educational system). I do not think her project is googled up as you put it or she would not survive her defence during her viva.
Do some more research before you comment on academic issues, your comment does not reflect the educational standard which you've "tried hard" to reflect. It's not compulsory to comment.
Congratulations to her as wished by everyone else.. However I will encourage her to be verse in research n authorship to be fully accredited and respected by colleagues that are much older than her. Lecturing alone won't do the trick....publishing journals n articles even without research journals will get her name out there... Wishing her all the best in her career... Do Nja proud...
Why cant people just be happy for her and move on?! Is it her fault some of you are over 25 without a masters degree? Bad belle people...mcheww! Babes, congrats jare.
Congratulations to her but permit me to add... Should she not have relevant work experience to really get a grasp of the Doctorate degree she has? Is Babcock doing this merely for publicity ?
You're obviously what the British call a 'Mature student'. Trinity what???? (college not university) Depends on your supervisor and how hard working you are as a student.
As a product of the British educational system with several classmates in different disciplines from different countries over the years, I confirm this is VERY POSSIBLE. So please stop misleading others if the quality of your research hasn't been acceptable by your supervisor for a VIVA.
you guys shld stop hating!!!!! stop being jealous, it is very possible. student finish PHD in UK at 23/24yrs. its very possible. Stop beefing and just congratulate her.
Congrats dear and i pray u achieve more greatness.
Just so y'all know, babcock is outstanding in their academic programme. It is the only Nigerian private university that has affliated universities all over the world. It runs an American standard curriculum where an A grade starts from 80 marks unlike other Nigerian Universities. They have only 60 first class out of over a thousand five hundred graduating students which is quite commendable in an institution like this. The reason why there is no 3rd class is because Babcock doesn't give room for failure. All those with 3rd class and pass cgpas are required to stay back in school until they earn a minimum of 2nd class lower degree. To top it all, Babcock University was just recently awarded the best private university in Nigeria by All Africa Students Union in 2011.
There is hardly anything academic about Bus Info waranting a PhD. What is her level or quality of contribution to knowledge? No beef about the age, but these questions. People do get PhD at such age in Western World, but have a lot of serious work to show for it. We need not be celeberating mediocrity with these private universities!
MONEY CAN BUY ANY CERTIFICATE EVEN FROM THE COMFORT OF YOUR ROOM WHAT IS THE BIG DEAL IS THAT THE LEVEL OF EDUCATION EVERY NIGERIAN CHILD IS ENTITLED TO FROM PRIVATE NURSERY TO PRIVATE UNIVERSITY!!
congrats poe but unna wicked oooh na dis small girl unna dey yab so , a majority of you hating are struggling to pass ordinary jamb , some are managing with Lasu - part time , small girl had a first degree must have passed in flying colours to do masters and Phd and some olodo is saying her school is no recognised , another is saying she could't have heard a Phd pls wish her well for once --- awon aunty Nce .!!!!
Abeg Abeg Abeg ...... My uni is d best jooor.. Greatest IGBINEDION University............wetin be Babcock Abeg Make una park well jooor mscheeeeew......
It was a student from this BAB COK who represented my Platoon For d miss Camp NYSC kebbi state in 2011, she was a first class graduate..... But misd a simple question of "what is d full meaning of ICPC" she could not say it...... Shame on this type of graduates... Congrat girl.. Buh hope u know d full meaning of EFCC? Lol.....
I'm not hating on her for having a Phd at 25(afterall,a fellow corp memeber who studied abroad got her Phd at 23). However, its d time frame in which she got the Phd that worries me. She enrolled in 2010 and has already bagged her Phd in 2 years??? I rest my case!
@mama somtee We don miss u for LLB O.dnt mind those cyber bullies jare
All i see is pure beef. Nigerians hv just been brainwashed to blve they cant do anything great. I knw some1 that graduated at 26 with a PhD and shes not even a super brain. Here in the UK just show your supervisor you are efficient and hardworking and you'l get proper supervision that'l even inspire you to get done with your doctorate. But in naija, They'l make you spend 5 years doing what their mates elsewhere can do in less than 4 years.
Make una dey there dey hate, the babe is doing well for herself.
Now I understand what Omotola meant when she said when people are losers, they accuse others of being overachievers. I see nothing impossible in getting a ph.d at 25, even in a federal university or abroad. Why don't we let go of this pathetic mentality that has only caused us to be backward? Please let's all just sit down to plan our lives and pray to achieve great things in life! Stop the hating please! Linda pls post my comment.
I don't pass comments but i will do on this one, this girl was my junior at babcock, she graduated at 18, and so many others like that.Pls. always get your facts right before you comment. If babcock is not recognised, why would the reknowned neuro-surgeon, Ben Carson Jnr visit the school a couple of years back and the babcock medical school named after him today? Your recognised OAU keep MBA certificates for 3/4 yrs. Meanwhile babcock university gives certificates + transcripts on graduation day, no go come.Where is your recognised UNILAG today.Pls get informed and stop feeling among pesimists. For more info go to www.babcockuni.edu.ng
lmao @ all the comments above... Well congrats to her on achieving her PHD......but achieving all these certificates without serious work experience na yeye....i see a lot of that in Nigeria.......People have all the certificates u can think of but no experience in that field.....
congratulations o! But I am very skeptical about this degree. I would love to read her thesis for starters. And when did Babcock become accredited for graduate studies? Just asking o.
Hmmm......If you read her thesis I doubt you mental capacity is equipped to comprehend 1/4 of it. You don't have to say what you've heard elsewhere. You don't have to comment at all!!!
PHD IN WHAT..LET me inform you guys a little. For you to bag a PHD, it must be proven by outstanding works and has nothing to do with track records of the university most often, but your own personal research work, which must have in one way contributed to the development of the society and can be refered to. I have not read her works, so i advice, every one not to jump to conclusion, if she has a website, lets find out and get hold of her works and research. The you can all conclude.
abeg make una nor make me laugh fast my ass which school will ever be fast that you gho enter first yr 2010 and then graduate from a four yr program the next yr 2011 well i believe you just want to comment sha....nobody is hating we should be proud that a nigerian has a phd at 25 nor be only nigeria we for hear if the world is proud dem for done show em for cnn, bbc and the rest to inspire their own people too so this people no say nigeria na money making place so them no say there is no possibilities of this girl getting a phd at 25 them gho don do their own research na or you think say them b like linda wen gho go door to door copy new put for her site just for money sake dats thesame nigeria money making place lolllllllllllllllllllll
Nawa o...haba..u guys na..just because u kannot make a 3.0 CGPA does nt mean sum1 kant..nd 4 ur info..she dd her masters at U.I..lemme ask u guys..if babcock dashed ha d PH.D...dd ur GREAT U.I dash ha d masters too????
Na wa o. Instead of u guys to think of how u to get one urself, u r dere beefing d girl. Is very possible to get a PHD at 25 years. Am 22 years, am am currently running a PHD programme.
Nigerians can go beef..dis girl already has a job wit a gud pay nd u r here beefn her..dnt go nd find sumfin gud 2 do wit ur lyk, @least go nd enroll 4 bsc programme instead of beefn sum1 who has already made it nd is still makn it
Congratulations Ope.......These is the kind of news I love hearing despite all the backwardness visible in this country today. I hope your Ph.D will definitely contribute to the society in a very relevant way. And to you, haters out there...... I hope Ope will be able to proof to you the academic stuff she is made of in her chosen field. Once again congrats!
My own beef is that in the naija of today you see some Ph.D holders that are even lecturers; when you hear them speak especially in english you wonder the type of language with which they wrote their Ph.D dissertation. Some of them it is in the way they think and even act there is this aura (LACK OF CONFIDENCE) radiating around them, obsolete knowledge e.g Dr. Goodluck Ebele Johnathan. One can't but wonder where in this planet they bagged their Ph.D's from #noinsultintended#. Perhaps these impressions are what fellow nigerians see that makes them to scrutinize over achievers like Ope? But we really need to chill out and give her some slack. For once be happy 4 her!
Hahaha @ anon june 7th 5:17pm. proof to us ko, evidence to us ni. U sef go to school ooo, before u come and be yarning dust. Hian. ope you go girl, i am proud of your achievement. hopefully you will bag a good one soon. here is crowning your efforts with triple success.
Ope, we are all proud of your great achievement. This is a big challenge to many University in Nigeria where a supervisor may keep the student's work on the shelf and proceed to sabbatical leave thereby forcing many, out of frustration, to abandon the program. Let such powerful Dons learn from this. Hail Babcock God's own University - the PACE-SETTER!
Rather than criticize the school, we should congratulate her for attempting and completing this academic feat! At least for her interest in extra study!
wow1 congrat girl...

And this has to be genuine, not some project googled up!....in this case, call me orthodox...but that's the way I see it.
ReplyDeleteMake up by Teju, you're most likely a 'victim' of the Nigerian educational system. If you had not attended Unilag or Maulag (which I guess you did, I wonder if you'll be a graduate now.
DeleteIf you're familiar with the international educational standards at world renowned universities, you'll know with hard work and determination this is possible.
It's not compulsory to comment.

babcock's program is quick, they dont waste time, ppl that wrote waec 2010,will grad next year, they are so fast
ReplyDeleteLMAO. Ph what? Lol. Babcock, please where is her research?
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to her as wished by everyone else..
ReplyDeleteHowever I will encourage her to be verse in research n authorship to be fully accredited and respected by colleagues that are much older than her.
Lecturing alone won't do the trick....publishing journals n articles even without research journals will get her name out there...
Wishing her all the best in her career...
Do Nja proud...
Thanks for your positive criticism.
DeleteJ.R
Why cant people just be happy for her and move on?! Is it her fault some of you are over 25 without a masters degree? Bad belle people...mcheww!
ReplyDeleteBabes, congrats jare.
LOl.....my thoughts exactly.
DeleteCongratulations to her but permit me to add... Should she not have relevant work experience to really get a grasp of the Doctorate degree she has? Is Babcock doing this merely for publicity ?
ReplyDeleteohh can't believe it. She nust be a genius. but na private school sha.
ReplyDeleteNa wao. PhD at 25. I dey laugh o.
ReplyDeleteUneducated individual like you.....I pity you, do you have a masters degree?
DeleteThis is a wrong information as the person who actually bagged the PHD is a male
ReplyDeletefor you guy that dont know her, she had a first class in her under grad and did her msc at university of ibadan. So stop beefing.
ReplyDeletebabcock ma ass! cum 2 trinity college dublin(my college) and see if u can gt a PhD AT 25..NIAJA education system is lyk nollywood movIE!!!
ReplyDeleteYou're obviously what the British call a 'Mature student'.
DeleteTrinity what???? (college not university) Depends on your supervisor and how hard working you are as a student.
As a product of the British educational system with several classmates in different disciplines from different countries over the years, I confirm this is VERY POSSIBLE. So please stop misleading others if the quality of your research hasn't been acceptable by your supervisor for a VIVA.
J.R
you guys shld stop hating!!!!!
ReplyDeletestop being jealous, it is very possible. student finish PHD in UK at 23/24yrs. its very possible.
Stop beefing and just congratulate her.
Congrats dear and i pray u achieve more greatness.
Thank you jare! All i see is pure beef!
DeleteNonsense ppl beefing babcock...chillin skul no mata wat.congrtz babe'
ReplyDeleteJust so y'all know, babcock is outstanding in their academic programme.
ReplyDeletePple don't appreciate good tins!!! Dis is jux 2 bad.nigerians make me sick!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats Ope! All ur haters shall will not complete dia Bsc nd if dey av,dey will be stagnant.IJN amen
There is hardly anything academic about Bus Info waranting a PhD. What is her level or quality of contribution to knowledge? No beef about the age, but these questions. People do get PhD at such age in Western World, but have a lot of serious work to show for it. We need not be celeberating mediocrity with these private universities!
ReplyDeleteI pity you. It's obvious from your statement you haven't left the shores of this country.
DeleteJ.R
well said @mawureh but if their brains no carry 3rd class and pass nko, the school go just dash dem 2:2?
ReplyDeleteAbi 3rd class and pass no be grade?
MONEY CAN BUY ANY CERTIFICATE EVEN FROM THE COMFORT OF YOUR ROOM WHAT IS THE BIG DEAL IS THAT THE LEVEL OF EDUCATION EVERY NIGERIAN CHILD IS ENTITLED TO FROM PRIVATE NURSERY TO PRIVATE UNIVERSITY!!
ReplyDeleteAn A grade starts from 90-100 in the U.S not from 80.
ReplyDeleteSome pple who commented r just plain stupid. keep wasting ur life when people r out there achieving.
ReplyDeleteGREAT Babcock!!!
congrats poe but unna wicked oooh na dis small girl unna dey yab so , a majority of you hating are struggling to pass ordinary jamb , some are managing with Lasu - part time , small girl had a first degree must have passed in flying colours to do masters and Phd and some olodo is saying her school is no recognised , another is saying she could't have heard a Phd pls wish her well for once --- awon aunty Nce .!!!!
ReplyDeleteAbeg Abeg Abeg ...... My uni is d best jooor.. Greatest IGBINEDION University............wetin be Babcock Abeg Make una park well jooor mscheeeeew......
ReplyDeleteLinda did not write enough on this young woman achiever... She used to be a dullard until something happened in her life, according to on-line info.
ReplyDeleteSo, if people are laughing at you now, it does not mean that you cannot excel educationally, no matter how dull you may be at the moment.
Lol.....
ReplyDeleteWhat an irrelevant question......and you're a numpty for posting it!
DeleteTwat!
Inane comment. If you were so good, why didn't you represent your platoon.
DeleteJ.R.
Linda u didnt post my comment na.wetin dey do u sef...make i no vex o
ReplyDeleteI'm not hating on her for having a Phd at 25(afterall,a fellow corp memeber who studied abroad got her Phd at 23). However, its d time frame in which she got the Phd that worries me. She enrolled in 2010 and has already bagged her Phd in 2 years??? I rest my case!
ReplyDelete@mama somtee We don miss u for LLB O.dnt mind those cyber bullies jare
Hmmm...ok
ReplyDeleteAll i see is pure beef.
ReplyDeleteBut in naija, They'l make you spend 5 years doing what their mates elsewhere can do in less than 4 years.
ReplyDeleteI don't pass comments but i will do on this one, this girl was my junior at babcock, she graduated at 18, and so many others like that.Pls. always get your facts right before you comment.
ReplyDeleteGood on you and that's how it should be done.
DeleteFederal Universities are a joke!
Please we need more positive comments like this!!!
DeleteJ.R
lmao @ all the comments above...
ReplyDeleteWell congrats to her on achieving her PHD......but achieving all these certificates without serious work experience na yeye....i see a lot of that in Nigeria.......People have all the certificates u can think of but no experience in that field.....
This is great good work girl
ReplyDeleteThis is great good work girl
ReplyDeletecongratulations o! But I am very skeptical about this degree. I would love to read her thesis for starters. And when did Babcock become accredited for graduate studies? Just asking o.
ReplyDeleteHmmm......If you read her thesis I doubt you mental capacity is equipped to comprehend 1/4 of it. You don't have to say what you've heard elsewhere. You don't have to comment at all!!!
DeleteJ.R
Ignorance is what kills most Nigerians..smh.. congrats girl!
ReplyDeleteplease check out reviewnaija.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI think it's a cool idea, but I need the Nigerian community's support for it to take off.
Working towards making Nigeria great.
R.N
PHD IN WHAT..LET me inform you guys a little. For you to bag a PHD, it must be proven by outstanding works and has nothing to do with track records of the university most often, but your own personal research work, which must have in one way contributed to the development of the society and can be refered to. I have not read her works, so i advice, every one not to jump to conclusion, if she has a website, lets find out and get hold of her works and research. The you can all conclude.
ReplyDeleteShut up, get educated.
Deleteabeg make una nor make me laugh fast my ass which school will ever be fast that you gho enter first yr 2010 and then graduate from a four yr program the next yr 2011 well i believe you just want to comment sha....nobody is hating we should be proud that a nigerian has a phd at 25 nor be only nigeria we for hear if the world is proud dem for done show em for cnn, bbc and the rest to inspire their own people too so this people no say nigeria na money making place so them no say there is no possibilities of this girl getting a phd at 25 them gho don do their own research na or you think say them b like linda wen gho go door to door copy new put for her site just for money sake dats thesame nigeria money making place lolllllllllllllllllllll
ReplyDeletePlease go back and read the full article!!!
DeleteNawa o...haba..u guys na..just because u kannot make a 3.0 CGPA does nt mean sum1 kant..nd 4 ur info..she dd her masters at U.I..lemme ask u guys..if babcock dashed ha d PH.D...dd ur GREAT U.I dash ha d masters too????
ReplyDeletewell it is quite possible. I am 21 yea and I just finished my masters in glasgow uni and I am starting my PHD in sept (which is 4 years by the way).
ReplyDeleteEducation is sexy!!!
ReplyDeleteNa wa o. Instead of u guys to think of how u to get one urself, u r dere beefing d girl. Is very possible to get a PHD at 25 years. Am 22 years, am am currently running a PHD programme.
ReplyDeleteIIIIIIII love dat......my drms
ReplyDeleteNigerians can go beef..dis girl already has a job wit a gud pay nd u r here beefn her..dnt go nd find sumfin gud 2 do wit ur lyk, @least go nd enroll 4 bsc programme instead of beefn sum1 who has already made it nd is still makn it
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Ope.......These is the kind of news I love hearing despite all the backwardness visible in this country today. I hope your Ph.D will definitely contribute to the society in a very relevant way. And to you, haters out there...... I hope Ope will be able to proof to you the academic stuff she is made of in her chosen field. Once again congrats!
ReplyDeleteMy own beef is that in the naija of today you see some Ph.D holders that are even lecturers; when you hear them speak especially in english you wonder the type of language with which they wrote their Ph.D dissertation.
ReplyDeleteOpe, we are all proud of your great achievement.
ReplyDeleteRather than criticize the school, we should congratulate her for attempting and completing this academic feat! At least for her interest in extra study!
ReplyDeleteHello, I read your blogs daily. Your humoristic style is witty,
ReplyDeletekeep up the good work!
