Mihag is just one of 800, 000 children that could die in Somalia in the worst drought in decades, because of the ongoing civil war in the country. The country's prolonged drought became a famine because neither the government nor many aid agencies can operate in areas controlled by Al Qaeda-linked militants.

oh! my God this is disheartening and to think that we Nigerians are complaining about the heavy rainfall in Lagos and other parts of the country. Honestly we have good reasons to be grateful to God....
ReplyDeleteHEAVENLY FATHER HELP OUR NATION!
ReplyDeleteHOLY SPIRIT OF THE MOST HIGH GOD :(
ReplyDeleteAwww he looks like ET. I hope he recovers.
ReplyDeleteits 2011, and in my most biased opinion, nobody should have to live like this.
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOD!!!
ReplyDeleteGod have mercy on ur children.this is heartbreaking.
ReplyDeleteMAY GOD HAVE MERCY ON THEM YET SOME IDIOT WILL PREFER TO GO AND DUMP THEIR BABIES FOR NO REASON
ReplyDeleteIhe nke a ogini? deep hmmmm!
ReplyDeleteGod thank you for my life. I promise to complain less about my own. Let me be a blessing to some these people.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a sad story.
only 64 comments in 3.5 hrs onthe daily mail.
ReplyDeleteif it were about an immigrant on benefits they will be all over the post like maggots.
Hi Linda You can use ur blog to get people to donate to a just cause. Form ur own little foundation for supporting somalis and I would contribute... Don't come and use our money to buld house at Lekki though..lol
ReplyDeleteLord this takes me back to pictures of Biafra...very heart breaking!!
ReplyDeleteMay God help us, where are Nigerian leaders? i guess this is from the North (pls iam not biased)i have seen so many cases like this in the region.
ReplyDeleteomg! and to think people throw food away here :(
ReplyDeleteanon 8:56pm im scratching my head. didn't you read the part where Linda said SOMALIA. which one is "is it from the north" again?
ReplyDeleteGod help this child ...... this is so sad ....
@Anonymous @ 6.25PM, I am not sure what you are trying to say but I don't blame British people- for how long do you spend people to continue to donate over and over again to Africa, which in their mind is a lost cause- all they hear are bad news about Africa all the time. Even I have given up listening to the news about the drought in the horn of Africa- African governments really need to get a grip and stop going about with begging bowls- as a continent, we have more than enough to feed ourselves- if you don't believe this, travel around Benue, Enugu and parts of the east and see how people criminally allow ripe food to go to waste because they produce too much of it!
ReplyDeletePlease Jesus, let rapture happen right now....the whole earth is going on some really freaking downward spiral
ReplyDelete*ajalahtravel*
eehya!! sad o..
ReplyDeletewhen there is fertile land in other parts of Africa to feed these people why are we begging the west for support...hmmm
JESUS..............save our nation.....
ReplyDeletei thought all babies under the age of one year were supposed to be on exclusive breast milk, so how come he's this skinny since breast milk is his food?
ReplyDeletei wish i can take dis little boy out through d system and stuff him with food. gosh its so sad.i hope our gov. n president and other DO OR DIE affair candidates see this bc any country dat chooses war and unrest this is d end product. now many leave somalia and few get to kenya et al live only God knows how many died on the way?
ReplyDeleteOH my goodness God. This is so sad!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm not buying this propaganda... Somalia has one of the most beautiful women in Africa (really beautiful).
ReplyDeleteImagine, someone had the balls to snap this picture instead of helping the child.
Somalia will only develop when British government stop interfering with their business.
@Just wondering,,,even if the baby is on exclusive breastmilk,,,,do u think his mother's breast will still be lactating and even if it lactates,, will the milk be nutritious cos even the mother is a victim and according to the story they had to travel on foot for seven days without food......
ReplyDeleteWe still have reasons to be thankful to God in Nigeria,,,despite the fact that we are ruled by corrupt leaders,,,we are still surviving well and despite our tribal/ethnic differences Nigeria has not experienced war......
May God help Somalia,,,,theirs is double wahala.....famine+war.....
Father in heaven, pls come to their rescue, especially that of the children
ReplyDeleteewu!!! na wah ohh. can this child evr survive??? we have sooo much to thank God for as Nigerians really.
ReplyDeleteDosumu you are a Dopemu
ReplyDeleteThat's all
Maybe some of you readers can go back and read Linda's post before blaming the british, other African leaders etc.
ReplyDeleteTo refresh your memory, here is what is happening: Al-Queda Militants are blocking aid to the people. Simple and short. Now you know who to blame.
@ anon July 27, 2011 8:56 PM, just wondering and Dosumu seem to be incredibly thick people. I usually do not insult but daft isn't good enough an insult for you guys.
ReplyDeleteIf d 1st anon actually took time to read just the first line before hopping on to comment, she would have realized it was Somalia. Honestly how hard is it to read?
Just wondering, you obviously aren't a woman and it seems you haven't been around pregnant women. 1st, not every woman lactates. 2nd, breast milk is produced with food a woman eats. If the mother is hungry, how would she be able to breast food?
Dosumu, the few models you have seen from Somalia (the most famous being Iman) are refugees and were lucky to escape. Besides you see a skeletal baby and the first thing that comes to your mind is beautiful women? Somalia has always been ravaged by war and poverty. Come on, how old are you?
Finally, @anon July 28, 2011 4:24PM, what you are trying to say is that it is the fault of the muslims. Now that it has been established, what point have you made? would it be ok if it was christians? Somalia has a lot of issues and they are drawn on both ethnic and religions lines. So calm down before you start blaming muslims for everything. Didn't Rwandans slaughter each other? Aren't they majorly christians? all you people that just have to put religion in everything, freaking piss me off.
God,this is real
ReplyDeleteWhat does having beautiful women have to do with a starved skeletal baby, msheww...idiot.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, i dont even know what to say. Africans always focus on the unnecessary or irrelevant things. Instead of all the terrorism, extremist going on in Somalia, why can't they focus on finding ways to feed their people.
Im having a hard time being sad when my mouse is a bottle of beer.
