Chairman, Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON), Chief Tony Okoroji, has said that everything is being done to make sure that the celebrated songstress and actress, Christy Essien-Igbokwe, who died in Lagos on June 30, is given a burial that will make her millions of fans proud.
Speaking at the COSON office in Ikeja this past weekend, Chief Okoroji asked all artistes across the country to prepare themselves to participate in an unprecedented funeral for the Lady of Songs, the first and only female President in the history of PMAN. “Nothing is being left to chance. We are working round the clock. Christy Essien-Igbokwe will be buried like a queen. Indeed, her burial will be like that of a Head of State” He said.
Her burial is scheduled for September 9th in Lagos.

lol. Amy Winehouse died this weekend and is already buried.
Christy Essien died weeks ago and is going to be buried in September.
Na wa for Naija mentality. Must you have the corpse present to celebrate the life of the deceased? SMH
why are they delaying her funeral?
Anon 5:55pm shake your head well till it falls. So what if they haven't buried her.
"Christy Essien Igbokwe will be buried like a head of state”....... Did she live like one? When someone is alive let them know that they are appreciated. Make sure that they are okay and don't wait until they are dead before the money comes out to "celebrate someone's death". I am tired of this nonsense. When the woman was alive how many of the "Christy Essien Igbokwe will be buried like a head of state" people offered her one naira to add and buy pure water.
Arrant nonsense...just bury her already...
