'As with any hair follicle, eyelashes will cease to grow if they are repeatedly plucked out at the root." Dr Bessam Farjo, of the Manchester-based Farjo Medical Centre, said

yeah. its like wearing lace front wigs that later makes a lady to lose her front hair. its called ALOPECIA i.e the loss of hair due to stress. so if the eyelashes are being stressed a la pulling, it leads to baldness.

ReplyDeletewhich explains why I hv been scared to try one! My lashes r naturally long anyway but Ive been wanting 2try falsies 4eva.
ReplyDeleteI suppose if u use it right and not 2 often, u should be good.
Wow... Didn't realise you could have alopecia of the eyelashes... It makes sense sha. We ladies get as we be, though. Kai! Mascara no do you?
ReplyDeleteThis isn't a new problem. Back in the 50s, Lana Turner lost her eyebrows to the glue she used to put her false ones on. Ladies should learn from other folks' experiences!
ReplyDeleteHa. Naija women shey you hear. We have taken the fake eyelashes thing to the extreme (like everything else we OD on). They are for special occasions, not everyday living. Same as the lace front wigs, they will chop all the hair on your head.
ReplyDeleteTrue you could get bald only if u pull out the fake lashes. Pulling it out like we do to your hair would lead to hair loss. False eyelashes are removed with eye makeup remover that loosens the adhesive on them (i.e the false eyelashes).
ReplyDeleteI love false eyelashes but that doesn't mean I should do them all the time. They should be done once in a while or on special occasions. It gives u a littile drama and u get the attention. And u don't really need to put on a Mascara everyday.
