Cross River State Governor, Senator Ben Ayade on Thursday advised youths to stop engaging in sex before marriage as it is the best way to avoid contracting HIV/AIDS virus.
The
governor, who stated this in Calabar during the 2016 World Aids Day,
said the best virtue any girl or woman would give to her husband is
to get married as a virgin, a core value Africans are known for.The governor described his wife, Dr. Linda Ayade, as one of such rare women who lived a virtuous lifestyle before she got married to him as a virgin.
"I am emphasizing on this core value because I married my wife as a virgin and she has remain faithful. So I charge all women to remain faithful to their spouses.Condom is not a guarantee to safe sexual life. It can fail one. There is no alternative to abstinence in sex life."
Ayade appealed to youths to see the dreaded HIV/ AIDS as real because it has destroyed many families, rendered many children orphans, many men and women widows and widowers respectively.
He noted that although poverty and some social pressure may have pushed many young girls into early exposure, there is need to teach our upcoming youths the true values of Africa which frowns at immorality which is now the order of the day.
The governor also advised Nigerians to be cautious of anything that can make them come in close contact with unsterilized kits used for barbing and hairdressing.

ReplyDeleteWhy do men feel the authority to advice women on morals and not themselves? What kind of hypocrisy is this? It makes very little sense for you to tell a girl to present virginity to her husband as the best gift and not tell men to do the same. So men are deserving of their wive's purity but women do not deserve the same? Or you think the world revolves around men and their needs that must be satisfied? How do you preach sexual immortality and focus on only one gender.. are the women sleeping with themselves? Abeg!
ReplyDeleteDon't mind the fat minutes cow,na you open the seal of the milk, no mean say Na only you deep spoon finish am. See him stupid face runs girls meal ticket.tah get out for there, when them done get little fame, them done turn counsellor even in issues they don't ideal on.
ReplyDeleteHow about you, Mr. Ayade? Did you marry as a virgin? Very likely not. Now, have you remained faithful to your marriage vows and wife all these years? Think not. What makes you think chastity is but a girl's/woman's burden? Just tired of the double standards, myopic sensibilities and hypocrisy especially on moral issues of the day. Better to think deep and wide, in order, to find lasting solutions to this scourge. QED@atm

Sex before marriage kwa?
ReplyDeleteWell...the bible talks about virginity.
But things happen.
People believe lies, truths, and what they wish to believe.
They have sex before marriage and after marriage.
They have parents who can advise them, and they can advise themselves as well.
Some people say abstinence, some people say celibacy.
What do you say?
