Niger Delta militants threaten to blow up any helicopter or plane that flies in the region, ask military to vacate the region within 48 hours

The Joint Revolutionary Council (JRC), which claims to be the highest organ of all the freedom fighting body, has released a statement asking the Nigerian Army to vacate the region or face full blown war. The military are in the region in search of members of the Niger Delta Avengers militants responsible for the various attacks on oil installations in recent times.

The Joint Revolutionary Council (JRC) in its statement vowed to attack any helicopter or plane that flies in the region. The group in the statement also say they may attack the Commissioner of Information in Bayelsa state, Jonathan Obuebite, if he continues to make derogatory comments about the group. Read the full statement from the group below.

The Joint Revolutionary Council (JRC) which is the highest organ of all the freedom fighting body has finally endorsed the followings:

1. After extensive and exhaustive deliberation by all Commanders of various groups in Yenagoa, the heart of the Niger Delta struggle met last night and as part of our mission, we are going to test six (6) of our MISSILES in the region. This is to show the federal government of our readiness of the American prediction.
2. There should be NO any form of helicopter to fly around in the region as we will not guarantee the safety of such object.
3. The people of the Niger Delta region should not be panic in course of test running the 6 MISSILES.
4. We may also decide within the week to shut down the Nigerian satellite orbit, so that there will be no communication in the country if needs arise.
5. Within our three (3) days operations, NO airplane should fly out of the country because it can target such object no matter how small or big it may be.
6. Our Fighter Expert Team shall be position in the six (6) Niger Delta states, who are already arrived the region from training through our country’s porous borders with our foreign partners who are going to showcase what they have learnt in past on year.
7. Our struggle is not for any human blood, but we have been pushed to the wall for justice because our patience is running out on daily basis as Nigerian uniform men killing our innocent people continuously.
8. Nigerian military should as a matter of urgency leave peacefully the Ijaw communities they are presently in, the next 48 hours under the guise of searching for the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) or else we should not be blamed of whatever catastrophe that may befall on such officers and the likely affected families of the officers should blame not the region.
9. We have consulted our war gods (deities) that enough is enough and that the time has come. Since the present Pharaoh of Nigeria, President Buhari is to preside over the disintegration of the country it is a good omen.
10. Henceforth, any attack on Ijaw communities or person(s) by the military or para-military body in the region, we will not hesitate to order our shoot-at-sight squad of any uniform personnel in the region.
11. We ask all Service Chiefs including Minister of Defence to shamefully resign their positions because Nigeria has no security in whatever form. Bravo to our Foreign Marine Crack Team for their ability to shut down Nigerian obsolete surveillance equipments.
12. For the records, Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) are not in Delta state, we only go there to strike and return back safely to the struggle base, Bayelsa state.
13. We further warn especially Mr. Jonathan Obuebite, Information Commissioner in Bayelsa state not to criticize our activities any longer or else he has a choice of leaving the planet earth anytime he made such statement(s).
14. All oil and gas operations should shut down immediately as our MISSILES testing will affect their equipments.
15. NOTE, we shall commence MISSILES testing on Tuesday 7, June 2016 which coincide with the date of our training abroad. Since the present Pharaoh of Nigeria (Buhari) fails to our demands. We promised Nigerians and the entire world that we are going to surprise them.

  1. I don't understand how you're fighting for ur rights by doing the exact same thing you're fighting for.what exactly is their grudge? Why ain't they holding their governor responsible? The last i checked, the government gave them amnesty, NDDC,and they even collect the highest allocated. Where did all this money go to? So called biafrans,Niger Delta militants, you people should hold your governors and local leaders responsible, they failed you,not the Federal government. And I'm i hearing war?do they know what war is? The effects? If they did, they won't even talk about one.I'm really ashamed I'm from delta state, their ignorance is baffling.

It's time we see if we have a leader who is strong enough to rule this country ,we can't allow this people to disrupt the beautiful journey buhari is building ,am from delta state but this assholes are so mentally dumb and corrupt that they can't even see ,the so called militant leaders and others from that region who joyfully stole money from oil to enrich themselves that couldn't put the money into meaningful project in the states ,build universities ,create something for this idiot with d money from their ,instead they building mansions, buy expensive cars and all that rubbish, now they destroying everything that not only belong to delta state but every nigerian ,i will b so glad if buhari can wipe off the whole of that place and start afresh ,this people need d strongst actions ,they can't be bigger than nigeria army ,navy ,mopol and all that ,it's time we unite as one and stop the greedy element in this great country of ours ,enough is enough ,to hell with everyone of them .

I strongly believe that GEJ should wade in because these are the same people that benefitted from him administration but instead of making it benefit their people they decided to buy all sorts of ammunition.

  58. Why d militants boast of themselves and still treating d country is because they(militants) are in d hands of learned military, I think what they deserve now is unskilled high breed kill and go and no matter how the past government enrich them(militants) with ammunition, I still believe their actions are child's play. Under his nose they shipped in ammunition and missiles...They shipped in anything they wanted without any due process and security checks...He put them above the law. His hands are not clean in this matter. By the time this escalates....It is the Niger Delta people that will suffer. ..Their aged parents, sons and daughters...you cannot start a war and make the rules of the war....bombing the oil installations of the nation is war declared against Nigeria already...and if the military and other forces decide to blow up your hideouts...Please don't scream bloodshed.

  89. Well let the truth be told. I dont support violence in any form or manner, I am a staunch supporter of justice. When boko haram began their violence what was their reason for the brutal and ravaged killings of very innocent citizens. They claim western education is evil and also wants every nigerian to convert to islam, what a very senseless course. inspite of theses vague course, negotiations doors was thrown open to them yet they never embraced it rather they continue to practically make things difficult for the last administration, Prior to Jonathan regime his predecessor Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar adua made a very good and beneficial arrangement with the militants through the amnesty program and there was relatively peace during those times and President Jonathan continued with the program even after the demise of his boss but as soon as President Buhari came into power he scrapped the program as if that is not enough he resorted force for enforcement within the region as if the people there are not humans and with no dialogue and negotiations. You cannot take away a cake from a child and expect that child not to cry or complain. We Should all remember that this mineral deposit is situated on their land instead of better their lot it worsened it by enviromental pollution and degredation.
With this analyses I hope one could be able to see the picture and come to their own informed conclusion.

  98. This is just an empty threat, i'm confident enough to say the military are close to nailing them that's why the militant release such threat. Also for them to claim they are in Bayelsa that is a big lie, maybe they think the military are stupid,i'm sure that their days is numbered whatever threat they put forward will not make Nigeria disintegrate we shall stand forever.
