Ijaw youths allege FG plans to arrest Goodluck Jonathan

The Ijaw Youths Council IYC over the weekend alleged that the there were plans by the Federal government to arrest former President Jonathan.

Speaking to Journalists at the funeral of former Bayelsa state governor, Dipreye Alamiyeseigha, the president of IYC, Udengs Eradiri, said the recent arrest of Jonathan's nephew, Robert Azibola, by the anti-graft agency EFCC, shows the Federal Government was gradually closing in on the former President. Eraditi said the Ijaw youths have vowed to resist any attempt to arrest or prosecute Jonathan

"They have arrested almost all our people. Azibola was arrested by the EFCC and we are calling on the EFCC to stop persecuting him further and charge him to court if there are issues. They detained him for a long time forcing him to make statements to indict former President Jonathan. Azibola was a businessman, contractor and has the right like every Nigerian to get contracts. Why will the Niger Delta case be a different one? We noticed that the same way they persecuted Alamieyeseigha, they want to continue with Jonathan. Our people who contributed in that administration are being persecuted by this government. The recent one is the ploy to arrest Jonathan which is unfolding every day. This must stop. Jonathan was the most performing president that Nigeria has ever had. We are proud of him. Every day, there is a calculated attempt to whittle down the achievements of Jonathan. We call on Nigerians to mount pressure on the government to focus on leading Nigeria right rather than looking for ways to bring down the achievements of Jonathan. Buhari should please focus on governance rather than persecution of people who have added value”he said

    6. Buhari is not the one persecuting. They should blame the laws of Nigeria. It is the law that is catching up with him. Afterall, Buhari did not put the law in place. The law makers put the law against corruption in place. Buhari is only effecting the law through the court. So if you are found guilty, face the law and leave Buhari out of it. Fools

  32. Permit me to ask, in this Nigeria of since 1960 till date, who is a Saint? among all our politicians and past presidents, Governors, LGA Chairmen and all of them even village kings and chiefs, who among them is a Saint? who among them is free and is void of corruption in this country. Every body and any body even those shouting crucify Jona, if given a sit today in the govt will do worst things. All the past Presidos sold all our oil bl..... many things have gone wrong from the past but we can not keep dwelling on the past wrongs. I will advise Mr Presido to please face the governance of the country and leave people alone. All the people governing with him presently are not better-off. To me they are all errors and have not been pure during their time as Governors or what ever. Even EFCC people are all errors. All I see is people pushing blames for inefficiency. Please lets move on and make do with what we have. We are still paying taxes and generating funds from various angles on daily basis. Abeg work because very soon you will have to show report. bye.

    1. Anonymous 11:09AM you are a big fool. So because there are no saints, does that mean we should continue to live with corruption for the rest of our lives? Does it mean we should not recover the looted money that we can recover? Does it mean we should continue borrowing money and be in debt for the rest of our lives? The taxes that we pay and the money being generated cannot even repair our refineries or stabilise power supply not to talk of eradicating unemployment or boosting agriculture. If the money was enough to do a lot, i dont think Buhari will be trying to get looted funds back or borrow from other countries. You are the kind of people pushing this country backwards. Allow Buhari to do whatever he wants to do. Jonathan was allowed to do whatever he wanted. So let Buhari be. Rubbish!

    2. I hate it when you catch somebody stealing red-handed, then the person starts saying i am not the only one that stole, Mr A and Mr B also stole. Have you addressed the fact that you stole first before pointing accusing fingers at others that also stole? If you feel Amaechi, Obasanjo or Tinubu stole, bring evidence against them to court. The court acts with evidence not rumour. Saraki is facing trial and he is APC, Buhari's former ADC was in EFCC custody and he is also APC. So cut the crap that they are only persecuting PDP.
