I have been a fan of Fashola, but I have no doubt he's not being sincere here.. The contract was quoted at 78million after it has been approved, not before approval as he alleged.. The fact that 78million naira of tax payers' funds were deducted from budgetary allocations, and expended on maintaining a wordpress website of such caliber, puts a huge question mark of Gov Fashola's much touted integrity.. I also wish he could throw more light of the allegations that he expended 1.2billion to construct just 6 pedestrian crosses along Lekki Epe expressway, (which to the best of my knowledge, there are less than six of such crosses along that axis) as reflected on the published budgetary expenditures.
Don't be illiterate in your response, you don't need natural resources to make money as a nation of state! Human resources trumps natural resources as a case study, think this way Africa or even Nigeris vs. the UK as an example!! Let me be very honest, EVEN IF there's child's play on the part of Lagos State Government or BRF, this response is so civil, responsible, matured and intelligent to make opponents and proponents of the accusations look like fools!. And yes truly, everyone was alarmed that an "Upgrade" costs so much but with this explanation of other things involved, I am surprised it costs that less - this is coming from an IT expert.
BRF, may I advise that you tow the line of the Alcoholic Anonymous (AA) which says: "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change those I can; and, wisdom to know the difference." You have proffered explanation to the best of your knowledge but your detractors will not agree with you. You award 78 million for a website that show your pictures alone just like a gallery, and you say it allows you do your job. ReplyDeleteLet me be very honest, EVEN IF there's child's play on the part of Lagos State Government or BRF, this response is so civil, responsible, matured and intelligent to make opponents and proponents of the accusations look like fools!. And yes truly, everyone was alarmed that an "Upgrade" costs so much but with this explanation of other things involved, I am surprised it costs that less - this is coming from an IT expert.
ReplyDeleteBRF, may I advise that you tow the line of the Alcoholic Anonymous (AA) which says: "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change those I can; and, wisdom to know the difference." You have proffered explanation to the best of your knowledge but your detractors will not agree with you. And, believing the theory of AA, it means that the allegations will unchangeably remain allegations but the difference will be the Consciences (nurtured by truth) of both your accusers and you. Conscience they say, is a great wound and only truth can heal it.

This is your personal website, are you not paid salary and security vote allowance, why did you not use it to do personal website, must it be from tax payers money that you where asked to put to judicial use. Yet there are roads that cost less you should have done. God will not fail to make all your lives very miserable. You mismanaged Lagos resources for 8 years with inflated projects just like this. Mr Fashola I used to be a great fan of urs. But with this allegation and ur lame responsr uou have lost my respect. First let me state that it would have been a much wiser move if you had not responded to this allegation cos u know what"silence is indeed golden". For it is said"it is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and removed all doubts". In other words if I was in doubt as to ur position with regards to the allegation, such doubts have now been cleared by your response. Mr Fashola please by your opening statement how can the upgrade of a website cost 12m naira? You must think us all fools if you think we will accept this explanation. Pls google is your friend, all you need to do is to search how much it would cost to upgrade and maintain a website and you will see what we come out for you and the cost in usd. I bet this your personal website will go down into Guinness book of records as the costliest by any government officials. Mr Fashola could you honestly look the Mayor of London in the face or the Governors of NY or California and tell them you approve a website for yourself at the cost of over $300, 000 of taxpayers money I bet they will laugh you off as a joker and a fraudster.
