Pupils go to school in Ibadan with their writing desks? (photos)
This is the state of education in Oyo state where Secondary school students in Ibadan go to school with their writing desks daily? A LIB reader who lives in the city sent in the photos
Non of u guys got a clue to what was going on. It is not s daily process as claimed by solo Makinde here. Secondly, students usually bring their chairs and desks to schools on admissions and take them back home on graduations to public schools. Do your home work.
Okorie Oluchi and Anonymous 11.45pm are absolutely right... it has nuffin to do with the state governor... If u had ever attended a government secondary school u wld know that's the norm.... After any major examination students go back home with their chairs and desk....
Linda its not everyday. Theres free education in ibadan. So basically d policy is students bring their desks to skool if there isnt enough. It happens in Lagos public skools too. Problem is large population & lots of skools.
At d beginning of term those dt dont get tables, bring in theirs. They even write names on it. Go to a public skool in lagos and check. By ss3 some leave theirs for others to use. Still never enough.
Its a problem but the most important thing to me is d free education. Maybe now uve highlighted it all this abandoned skools will be refurbished - Wt LONG BENCHES & DESKS cemented to d ground.
@anon pls dis is not obodo oyibo. How many pple or orgs pay tax? Only lagos makes significant income from dt. LIRS doesnt joke wt collecting from companies. Maybe u shld ask what oyo is doing wt deir allocation.
The soln to dis lack of income in states is resource control. When we only eat what we produce, every state will WAKE UP. Oyo state was d main producer of cocoa in d 70's. And they accomplished so much wt it. First university, first tv station, first radio. Shame.
na wa ooooo when will nigeria ever change ? why e b sy every abnormal thing na naija e dey happen self................menh i weak cos this so call politicians live like kings and sending their kids to sch abroad.......menh na devil go punish all of them because God dey take too long ........ richlyblessed
This is not news na. I attended a state secondary school in Lag, Ifako-Ijaiye LGA (formerly under Agege LGA) and we were all advised to get our chairs and tables since d school didn't have enuff. I made one in my first year, then made another one in my fourth year or so cos d first one was stolen. So this is not peculiar to Ibadan abeg. The infrastructure in most schools are often inadequate for d ever-increasing student population. Hence students have to provide some things 4 themselves. U guys shd stop giving Ibadan a bad name, pls
You are stupid, did the post say anything about the situation being good or bad. All the poster was trying to say is, this situation is not peculiar to just ibadan.
Are you asking a question or using a picture of the situation in a school to generalize the state of education in all the secondary schools in Ibadan ? Did you bother to find out if this is a daily routine or there was a reason behind it ? I think an ibadan boy or man broke your heart.
No, Linda. It's not everyday. That pic must have been taken on the first day of the term. That's how it has always been in old oyo state that includes osun. I remember when I was in pry and secondary school, providing furniture is your parent's duty just as school uniform is.
Should that be a parents responsibility? Nigerian mentality is bad. Things that are odd are now normal. There should be enough desks. That's why you pay tax
what exactly is the big deal here???why must we make a fuss out of the most minute things... I attended a reputable grammar school in Ogun state(Abeograms)and i did same..as far as i can recollect, soooo many seniors of mine did same too...That did not stop us from having sound education and most of us turned out real good..we all know its not the way to go but there's no need giving a dog a bad name just to hang it... Abeggiiii
Abegi ...U just sit & post tins dat re sent to u wifout verifying. Those chairs re bn transported to the school compound , probably from where they were constructed. Am beginning to c y pple ve issues wif ur style of blogging
Mtschhheeeewwww.... what's d news. I served in Akwa Ibom state and I remember those students bring deir desk and chair to school. This was 2013/2014 o. Make una allow Ibadan jawe. Nsit Atai students in Ak bring their desks to school too.
We're so quick at pointing finger at politicians and the government in power. Change actually starts from each and everyone of us. Talking about the students, it could be start of term and they are taking back their lockers to school. That can't happen every day, besides it doesn't happen only in Ibadan.
It's not right to make people comment since you are not even certain! Those students are probably on vacation and taking their desk home for the next session. So, please it is not daily! Biko, momo linda.
Y ar som pipu nt bliving,do u guyz actually stay in ib,if yes.nd u still dont bliv dat means u ar thick in d head nd daft.dis is 100percent true.tho it has always bn lyk dat since d past administration.bt dis is 2015,tins ougnt to av changed.dat'z our stupid nd good for nothing governor for u.
Governor Ajimobi shld be ashamed of being an indigene of ibadan. What he knows how 2 do best is 2 point. Accusing finger on Ladoja. He has lavished oyo state money on presidential election. Ole gbewiri
It's normal for pupils to bring a new chair at the beginning of a new term. Other states do so now, even Lagos state. Linda abegi swerve jae. #ibadanboy. Leave Us Alone. #AjimobiNorDoGood
Lam Adesina stopped this during his tenure. What is the present Governor doing? Went to Apata Ganga in Ibadan the other day, terrible roads, worse with rainfall despite the residents efforts to fix same themselves. Allocation cornering administrators.
at least in Ibadan they go to school...do your hometown people do any schooling...Just kidnapping and other vices....Ibadan this, Ibadan that. Anyway, this amebo puts food on your table and Ibadan on the map. Continue oh! When you are tired, you can stop
You guys should just keep quiet about Ibadan, this children choose to take their lockers home cause they might not meet it their the next day. It's not like they don't have. Some mischievous students after destroying theirs go about ab out stealing from other classes sometimes you can go a whole term without finding your locker and its somewhere been used by some miscreant
I served in ibadan! It's a sad case! They believe the govt has done enough by giving them free education. Funny thing is some parents still can't afford seats! then u go to d classrooms and see students sitting on the floor to receive lectures!
The things that make news these days is mind blowing! This is common place na! Go to Anambra and you see this, my parents did this, how this can change I don't know cos this is their personal desks.
Lmfao Oghene bikooo
