Photos: 4-storey building collapses in Yaba, Lagos

A 4-storey building said to be under construction collapsed in the Sabo area of Lagos this afternoon. Not sure if there were people in the building at the time of the collapse. Continue to see more photos from the incident...

  17. I was at the scene as at the time LASEMA arrived.No casualty has been reported so far, hopefully by the time they clear the rubble there would be no casualties.

  26. The security guard which is a mallam, said he was feeling stones falling on his body, then he told all the workers to go out. As they were all coming out thats how the building just felt

  29. I SAW THIS BUILDING AND COMMENTED ON THE LOW QUALITY MATERIALS USED IN SUCH COMPLEX CONSTRUCTION. I AM AMAZED WITH THE CALIBER OF CONTRACTORS ALLOWED TO CONSTRUCT HOUSES IN NIGERIA.

  32. All investigations are ongoing, I just left the Collapse Site with my Boss Engr. Oludayo Oluyemi, the current Chairman of Nigeria society of Engineers Lagos Chapter.

    We spoke to raypower and TVC news few minutes ago. all efforts are been made to contact the Engineer, Architect and contractor handling the Job. Am Currently working on a report on want could have caused the collapse. its a pity and we Thank God no live was lost.
