    1. I'm a 43 yr old man but I visit LIB (anonymously) sometimes up to 10 times a day. My wife don quarrel tire with me, but it's my NUMBER 1 source for Nigerian news for me because I live abroad.

Guys, I've seen this type of inaugural pictures SEVERAL times in my life and yet nothing changed. A lot of you guys on this blog are young (20-30yrs), so I can understand how all this is new and exciting to you. This must be the first significant change of power you've "actively" experienced in your lifetime as you would have been politically unaware in 1999. We've seen major changes (1983, 1985, 1990s) in my lifetime and there was this same expectation for change and improvement. We are always disappointed because (1)We Nigerians never change. We are still biased, openly bigoted, extremist in nature, lawless and closed minded. (2) Although regime changes, same people who have been pulling the strings in the 70s are still in charge.

Unless Buhari is prepared to damn the consequences and do the right thing - (1) Change Nigeria's ethnic culture which is the no 1 thing that breeds corruption; (2) change the system; (3) treat all states and regions equally; (4) Be a president of Nigerians; (5) End this culture of tribal domination; then we'll all be terribly disappointed in 4yrs time.

I'm sure in 4-8 yrs time you guys will be much more wiser

    1. I wld thank him for recognizing the fact that he had noting more to offer, recognizing that he had failed the people of Nigeria, thereby conceeding. I wld also tell him to restrain his wife a bit more. Apart from his advisers, his wife contributed a lot to his failure.

  37. Only Christians leaving in the north will know the importance of Jonathan's conceding defeat. And even if he had won, what will happen. ThankGod for GEJ, and i hope he has given birth to a new Nigeria. A Nigeria where the Hausas will learn to accept defeat, a Nigeria where everyone is a winner, a Nigeria free of Bokoharam (I dont understand their reason for existing-political or academic), a peaceful Nigeria. LONG LIVE GEJ... LONG LIVE NIGERIA....

  39. Please stop misinforming people. In 1984, Buhari came into power through a coup which sacked President Shagari from power. He was not sworn in in public neither was there any inauguration ceremony or parade as the one witnessed today. That picture is probably one taken at an Independence Day parade. It would be nice if you correct yourself please.

  40. I miss Tunde Idiagbon in this inauguration. I wish he was here (RIP)

  41. Personally can't say I'm a fan of either the out going or recently sworn in president, but I can say 1 thing, there doesn't seem to be much hope for Nigerian youths leading this society anytime soon, because if 32years later, we are stilling recycling leaders, we can expect to see GEJ and the likes again....... quite sad, just hope he brings the change every expects

  42. Point of correction Linda, that picture of Buhari in military uniform must have been taken on an Independence Day because nobody inaugurates a military Head of State on assumption of office

  43. Congratulations to our new President. May you rule with peace and without sentiments. And may your reign be glorious. I wish you well.
