After the video went viral, KFC released a statement saying the workers were washing chicken which was meant to be discarded.
"The franchisee required the team to discard [the spoilt] product before breading it to avoid breading [mixture of flour and our secret recipe of 11 herbs and spices] waste," KFC said in a statement posted on its official website.

About 2 years ago, I was at KFC surulere with a friend. I made an order, and I was served.
I had almost bitten into the burger when I paused.
I turned it over.
(Holy Moses!) The bread had gotten so stale, the mold was visible and greenish.
My friend drew the attention of the person who brought my order. He alerted the manager who was only too willing to give me anything I wanted (even if it was more than what I paid for) right there.
I don't like creating scenes, so I quietly left.
Heaven knows, if I had eaten from that burger and discovered that it was diseased,....
God will keep protecting us.

Why wash spoilt chicken that will be discarded on the floor without containment? Shouldn't the water used also be disposed of properly?
KFC has to buckle up and not give out their franchise to any Tom that can afford to pay, some owners may not care about hygiene as they should. Mr. Biggs was a hit when it started but by selling their franchise to some people who didn't understand the importance of selling good food and hygiene, other fast food joints were able to break into the market.
They wil alwaz defend themsef. Wht a shame.
