Photos: Robbers kill Brig. Gen Dominic Oneya's daughter in Delta state

The daughter of former military administrator of Kano and Benue States and former NFA president, Brigadier General Dominic Oneya, Frances Oneya (pictured left) was shot dead by suspected armed robbers on Friday October10th after she left a bank in Delta State.

According to friends who shared her sad demise on her Facebook wall, the mother of four was shot dead while seating in the driver seat of her car after she went to a bank to cash some money. The incident happened around 10:40am on Friday along Ovie Palace road, Effurun by KW junction).

According to eyewitness, after shooting Frances, the robbers took the money she had on her and escaped through the road that links the Ovie Palace road to the G.R.A. She was rushed to the hospital where she later died. Too sad. See photos from the incident after the cut...



May her soul rest in peace. Meanwhile, the Delta state police spokesperson, DSP Celestina Kalu say investigations into the robbery incident has commenced.

    Linda, please we should try not to release these types of pictures. The woman has relatives and loved ones. We don't want to immortalize the scene of her death. Me set wet no know her, I had a massive shock when I saw the pictures. They are so gory and we don't want to also desensitize people to death. God rest her soul. What a violent way to die. I continue to advocate for the reduction of inequities in Nigeria. Until the country addresses extreme deprivation in the population, we will continue to hear about and witness these senseless killings. After a while, they become the new normal. I do not wish to partake in such. Jesus help her family. What a beautiful woman.

    Very sad, Frances didn't deserve to die like this, Infact nobody does. Towards xmas warri is always like this, robbers trailing people from the bank. I pray the wicked monsters get caught. I also hope the government brings back security to the town.

    Wrong Linda... the robbers didn't take any money (200)k and it was her dad who asked for her to help cash the money from zenith bank along warri sapele road, delta state...the whole incident was practically an assassination cause they tailed her,she noticed I supposed and she was trying to run when she fell into the dish with her car at ovie palace road and datz was wen they came down from the car, shot her twice on the neck,took her bag with continuous shooting in the air so no one could come after them even the 20niara police officers took off. *witness*
