Photos: British nurse who survived Ebola returns to Sierra Leone

British nurse, Will Pooley who contracted Ebola while working in Sierra Leone, returned to the West African country today October 19th after being treated and cured of the deadly disease in the UK.

Williams said he couldn't stand "idly by" and watch more people die of the disease when he could help and feels his decision to go back to Sierra Leone is the right one...
"I chose to go before and it was the right thing to do then and it’s still the right thing to do now.” he said
Williams was airlifted from Sierra Leone to England on August 25th after contracting the disease. He will be resuming work tomorrow Monday October 20th at an Ebola Isolation Unit at the Connaught Hospital in Free Town, the Sierra Leone capital.

    1. Research have it that you can't contract Ebola virus twice in a life time so he's permanently immuned to the virus. His blood can even been given as transfusion to cure EVD patients

    2. lol... Which research? The research you made or the one your lecturer in school made? Funny. There are no succesful research on Ebola yet. There are various researches still on going and no one has confirmed any research yet, be it treatment, vaccination and immunization. It is not a proven fact yet but from my apt knowledge of immunity his defense system is stronger but that doesn't mean he can't contract it again....No proof for that yet. But he is a brave man who loves his job. Kudos to him

  36. Omg! How touchy! Sometimes I wonder if God created the white man with a special gene, their courage and perspective to life is entirely different and amazing. This is a decision no black man will ever take. Esp naija, we too like life, even when it hard and unbearable, we rather stay a meaningless life and be alive, than make a difference and take the risk

  38. Pretty altruistic. Be informed though that it has been discoverd that anyome that survives the disease becomes immune to ever re-contracting it. 7c112097

  39. AND YET PEOPLE THINK GOD DOESN'T HAVE A MILLION AND ONE REASONS WHY HE LOVES HUMANITY.

THIS IS THE HIEGHT OF SELFLESSNESS I HAVE SEEN IN YEARS. AND THIS ACT OF MERCY, LOVE AND COMPASSION IS ENOUGH BLESSINGS ON THIS MAN.

    THANK YOU WILL

  40. It is great he is going back. He cannot catch the virus again, because his blood now has antibodies of ebola and they will fight off anymore infection. Simply, once you get the disease, you cannot get it again. This I know, as I am in the medical field and I know what I am talking about.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Foolish people, those who get ebola develop immunity. He cannot catch it

    ReplyDelete
  42. Yes. He's brave n a hero.. He also know that he has built the immunity for it and get contact it again, that's why.

  50. Read up people when a person contracts Ebola he's likely to develop immunity over the strain of Ebola they were affected with...Let it be known that there 4 different strains of Ebola with the Zaire strain being the deadliest...

  51. That is what i call godly man. benotekcomputers@gmail.com

  52. Once you survive Ebola, you become immune to it. SO he basically has nothing to lose. With all the money he is getting paid to do this, shoot I would to if I were him! Ride on brother!!

    ReplyDelete
  53. What a selfless act! May God bless him and give him more courage to forge ahead.
