Two prominent contenders of the upcoming Ekiti State Governorship election, incumbent
Governor Kayode Fayemi and former Governor Ayo Fayose decided to show
the people of Ekiti some love by sharing cooked and uncooked
rice. Pictured above is an Ekiti State University

ReplyDeleteI never comment Linda, I just read but with the boko haram issue and many other simple problems that our politicians refuse to resolve, I had to say something.
What does your rice distribution have to do with how you will ensure good jobs, good roads, electricity, security and other basic amenities for the constituents????

ReplyDeleteHmnnnnnn, these politicians, ok ooooo.
ReplyDeleteMany are selling their destinies and future because of a bowl or bag of rice. Poverty stricken people.
ReplyDeletethis is just a clear case of politicians taking advantage of the poverty in the land! when parents continue to produce kids they cannot cater for... this is always the result. Illiteracy, poverty and religion has always being the stumbling block to our democracy. It all starts from our diffrent homes, when there is no more, why wont someone smile when politicians give you rice bought with stolen monies... I quite sympathise with this country. Our politicians will continue to take advantage of the ignorance... If you educate your child and reduce the unecessary burdens that would impede it,... in future, we would have a crop of vibrant Nigerians who would stand up for their rights and take charge of their destiny. How I wish we would just emulate China and stop all these barbaric and wicked acts of bringing children in this world and leaving them to suffer... The multiplier effect is what we are seeing everywhere. SMH!
ReplyDeleteNa rice them take dey do election....stupid ppl.....
ReplyDeleteGud for them.....
ReplyDeleteHmnnnnnn, these politicians, ok ooooo.
ReplyDeletehow long are we going 2 continue sellin our right 4 a bag of rice ehhh.which way youths of naija
ReplyDeleteEyah! So nice of them!
ReplyDeleteSo nice of them to climb down from their high horses to share rice. The second anyone of them wins, it's 15 car convoys splashing mud on the common man while their overzealous security operatives harass people with impunity.
But of course, they're sharing rice....
Dis pple ar nt serious. . No election nxt yr unless bh is eliminated..
ReplyDeleteSo without d election coming up they can't give things out, o ma see ooh, so cooked rice and raw one is now d problem of ekiti state people..if its me I will collect all of it on d d day I will sit @ home, make very good meal of d rice and be watching their razzmatazz on tv..a won we re politicians.
ReplyDeleteSo this is the best this 4king Governors, aspirants, leaders can offer its citizens RICE. Not a better living, RICE. not power, education, infrastructures, but RICE. All these fools need to be taken out
ReplyDeleteIf this is what u call a big bag of rice den they paid u 4 dis post... Anyways... What will happen after d election
ReplyDeleteWhat a SHAME... INEC or is it FEDECO should make this illegal.. This what hunger and poverty does. If you want to serve you don't bribe people.
ReplyDeleteAnd they will sell their future for a bowl or bag of rice......just like the Biblical Esau...#smh
ReplyDeleteSo sad d way ppl think in nigeria .u want they to come n fix your road after bag of rice.nigeria cantNOT develop.

ReplyDeleteSee the mumu smiling there as they use his $20bn to buy rice for him. smh.
You know what, I can't with some Nigerian politicians anymore. What in the world? Where in the world do they share food??????? This is so out of control!
ReplyDeleteTHEY GIVE YOU A BAG OF RICE TO BRAINWASH YOU AND GAIN YOUR VOTE! AND END UP SWOOPING BILLIONS OF NAIRA OFF Y'ALL DUMB ASSES! NAIJA SMDH ~ NA SO WE GO SIT DOWN DEY LOOK!!!
ReplyDeleteSaraka! Rubish
ReplyDeleteBribery and corruption smh for my country, if leaders and followers do the right things and everyone has access to the necessary things a government should give its people, sharing rice would be an insult to the people of Nigeria. Well corruption will not stop if we keep accepting rice, but you can't tell a hungry old lady or a woman who has hungry kids not to collect rice. Even if you don't collect they will still rig the election but remember let God and their dead conscience be the judge. At the end of your life, what would you gain if you collect all the rice and loose your soul... is it worth it?
ReplyDeleteNIGERIA!!! the country where her people sell 4 years of their lives for 2 congos of rice and one bottle of groundnut oil. we will get there one day hopefully
ReplyDeleteHigh rate of unemployment in Nigeria and they are sharing rice. Deris God oooh
ReplyDeleteFYI, what y'all see Fayemi and his wife doing has being on for almost 3 yrs now. It aint got nothing to do with the coming election
ReplyDeleteAnon@5.50 I agree u with u. In addition these are elderly people, it seems very, very wrong that they have to queue up for a plate of food. It just makes me feel so sad for them and Nigerians in general. What sort of suffering will force an elderly person who has paid their dues to come and queue for rice aluminium plate in hand. God forbid evil. Was there no other dignified way to treat these mama and papa. Sharing food indeed. More like sharing poverty plus insult. Nonsense !
ReplyDeleteThts just d way to buy ppls hrt wit their blood moni. Mtchewww!!... By @successralu
ReplyDeleteI beg to dissagree with this idea that both candidates are sharing rice. Though am no fan of Fayemi nor a supporter of Fayose I think the truth must be told. As for Fayemi he has been giving food and money to the Elderly for close to 3 years now. So we should not say he is just doing it during election because he has been doing his Owo and Ounje Arugbo since. For Fayose this is also one of the reasons the poor in Ekiti won't see that he is bad because he share money, food and other items to them. So do you blame the people for following Fayose who will give you half bag of rice, you eat and you are good as against Fayemi who is not doing so rather he prefer to be using the money to do road construction, poultry and many other developmental stuff which will not translate into. Food in the belly immediately. Fayemi's agenda is a long time thing and its rubish in our present day Nigeria.
ReplyDeleteGiving rice and other items are part of campaign during electioneering period,bt d cooked one being shared is what I seems not to be totally subscribed to.....and the foolish ones who doesn't know the source w eat it....kai,poverty na wahala o
ReplyDeleteSad that the Fayose that almost killed an SGU president back in the day is the same Fayose that the current university students are supporting and eating rice. TOO SAD!!
ReplyDeleteSo they wan use rice buy votes?! Chai!!! Perpetual poverty has deprived many Nigerians of pride and made our officials act with such impunity, it has become a norm for rubbish like this to happen and be tolerated.
ReplyDeleteNa wa oo. If this is d new way to new an election, I better go nd contest
ReplyDeleteCollect the rice but vote for who you think will help the state?
ReplyDeleteSo na rice be their problem.pls collect the rice n vote for the right person.
ReplyDeleteAnd like d biblical Esua who sold hs birthright fr a plate of porraige, dey sell dier voting liberties fr a plate of jollof rice!...Damn!wat a poverty strike coun3.am ashamed
ReplyDelete*poverty striken
ReplyDeleteThis shows how myopic our politicians are not even the incumbent governor, of what essence is this to the welfare of the people of the state imagine in this generation. This is the comedy of the century...
ReplyDeleteVery disgusting politics, why didn't he do this all along to alleviate poverty right from beginning of his administration. Cheap pulicity from someone I used to hold in high regards (Fayemi)
ReplyDeleteFunny... Wat none of dem had bin doin b4 now. Yeye politicians
ReplyDeleteI hope say that rice go do you till 2019
ReplyDeleteTHAT ONE NA BAG OF RICE? ABEG NA MUDU O. FOOLS
ReplyDeleteRubbish. They know that their people are poverty stricken/hungry. The average earner will not scramble for rice, especially one this small.
ReplyDeleteThe bag small, then the rice inside the bag come be half of the bag.
ReplyDeleteGbagun! electorate no get plural Linda
ReplyDeleteFayemi try sha...e be like say he do their roads for them, pay old people one small mthly salary. But fayose nah thief. In other countries the guy for dey inside prison...if no be 4 bribery&corruption...And Oga Jonah wey dey celebrate criminals imagine Fayose for Ekiti;Omisore for Osun;Alamasiegba or wetin dem dey cal am for Bayelsa!
ReplyDeleteFAYOSE DON WIN OOO! PDP POWER TO THE PEOPLE. RICE IS JUST GIFT NOT TO BUY THEIR CONSCIENCE.
ReplyDeleteChop and clean mouth and vote whomever you want. After all, its our money.
ReplyDeleteekiti stop eating your future
ReplyDeleteEKITI STATE.......hungry people!!!! Nice ni,,cheap bribe,y not give away costomized Iphone, make we no say u mean business.....Vote him in nd vote in Poverty n Hunger,Thumbs up to d hungry state Ekiti...........#columbiana#
ReplyDeletelinda na lie go kill u, nobody share cooked rice am from ekiti. If u like dont post my comment
ReplyDeletewe need lasting solution to unemployment and alot of issues. sharing of rice won't solve the problem or will he continue to share rice throughout the rest of his tenure. there are things we need to consider first (future) collecting bribe and rice is never the solution. pls lets be wise in this coming election plssssssss. #PICCANTO#
ReplyDeleteIt is so sad that Nigerian politicians haven't grown beyond this poverty driven campaign. you only share rice to people when you are empty in all aspects and cannot rise above the populace to see where you must lead them if you eventually rig yourself into power.
ReplyDeleteJust making fool of the electorate for their own political ambitions which is for monetary motive
ReplyDeleteit is unfortunate that we are still at the stage of sharing bags of rice(even a tiny bag) to win our vote SHAME!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThere is hunger in the land!
ReplyDeletethis dude just sold his future for a bag of rice
ReplyDeletepeople eating their future. continue, continue, all this rice we are sharing, diaris God, God is WASHING all of us.
ReplyDeletepeople eating their future. continue, continue, all this rice we are sharing, diaris God, God is WASHING all of us.
ReplyDeleteEsau and Jacob story all over again.
ReplyDeleteDon't sell your birthright for a plate of soup. Don't be Esau the red.
ReplyDeleteThis I guess is the first time I am seeing such in Nigerias politics. Sharing cooked and uncooked rice. I hope that rice will do you guys for the next four years. Nigerians! We are not ready for change that I can perceive! We let them buy our freedom, we let them buy our integrity! Challenge these politicians, surprise them! Let's be one! Reject their gifts and show them we are in for serious business. Because we have collected rice, we see the wrong things and behave like we haven't seen any. I don't blame them though, they believe we can be bought so they just decide to give us less than half a bag of rice! Well, no change is ready to begin!
