Nigerian Army removes Commander whose battalion revolted yesterday

The Army Commander whose unit revolted yesterday May 14th in Maiduguri (read here) has been removed by the Nigerian Army from the 7th infantry division.

Spokesman of the Nigerian Army, Major General Chris Olukolade, announced the removal of Major General Ahmadu Mohammed in a statement released today.

The Commander's battalion revolted yesterday, shooting sporadically after seeing the bodies of their colleagues who had been ambushed and killed by Boko Haram in Chibok. They also complained of not getting adequate weaponry to fight Boko Haram and poor conditions. The soldiers shot at their commander during the rampage but didn't kill him.

If d soldiers blame d commander, den he is at fault after all he is a northerner and most of dem sellout the soldiers nd thr colleagues. Most of dem r traitors dat hold thr allegiance to boko haram insurgents.

That is what I am talking about, no time for wasting time or retaining incompetent leaders, we are at a cross road in this country, we can't afford to make mistakes and have loopholes, worst still from those heading our security operatives, he should not only be fired, he should be probed to serve as an example to others #bringbackourgirls

  18. Good job for by the Nigerian army in acting swiftly and decisively and throwing out that hopeless Major General Ahmadu Mohammed.

The dismissal of Major General Ahmadu Mohammed is the right decision. He seems rotten and corrupt.

Major General Ahmadu Mohammed should also be detained, investigated and interrogated. I suspect he's a traitor and linked to the senior paymasters of Boko Haram.

The assets, finances, bank accounts, businesses and everything and everyone related or / and associated with Major General Ahmadu Mohammed must be investigated. Investigate Major General Ahmadu Mohammed's assets and bank accounts that are inside and outside Nigeria. People like him usually hide the ill gotten wealth under the names of the children, wives, cousins and mistresses.

It was either Major General Ahmadu Mohammed or / and someone connected to him that tipped off Boko Haram to set ambush against Nigerian army soldiers.

That hopeless Major General Ahmadu Mohammed deserve to be tried and hanged for treason.

  27. He should be made to face the firing squad. He planned the ambush of the soldiers and must have selected those who should go to Chibok for Boko Haram to cheaply kill. Now for the morons who do not read history or are so pressured to be part of the anti-jonathan crowd, you should see evidently the political tone of this struggle in the country. I am pro-sane Nigeria. Ali-modu Sherrif, Senator Zanna, Sanusi, many of the northern elites etc and the many other beast in or outside government, your days are numbered. The blood of those you have sponsored to kill call for revenge! Your life, children and families will start to experience terror and horror till all you agonising deaths come. Insha illah!

When individuals or group goes to give information about the activities of the boko haram ,they loose there lives to the soldiers . 51. Good! Now they should also fire all those on the hierarchy all the way to the top who have been embezzling the money meant for the officers. In addition they should smoke out all those moles in the military who have been setting up their colleagues for slaughter. Nigeria is a great country we need to take it back from spoilers.
