As part of its goal to orient the public about interior architecture, interior/product design and decoration, the Interior Designers Association of Nigeria (IDAN) is set to host her 2nd annual interior design event aptly titled Gida Uno Ile Design Exhibition, Guide.
‘Guide 2014’ which was coined from the word ‘home’ in 3 predominant Nigerian languages will kick off on Friday, May 9 to Sunday, May 11, 2014 at the Eko Hotel Convention Centre Victoria Island, Lagos. The event will set out to enhance knowledge about the profession while encouraging co-operation between design professionals and showcase contributions of the association to the society. This year’s exhibition promises to be enlightening as well as amazing, as it will feature free design consultations with top interior design houses such as inu designs, iDesign, Blue Mahogany and CaxtonalileINTERIORS. Other features to look out for include seminars and practice workshops, young talent competition for upcoming designers in the making and networking sessions with top furniture manufacturers and retailers such as Aframero, Southwood,  Installations, Roma fruits of Nature and Pinceto. Participants can also relax and enjoy light entertainment in the design lounge which has been put together by Tope Edu Designs.
According to Chairperson of the organizing committee and Chief Executive Officer of Blue Mahogany, Mrs. Omon Anenih-Mordi, this year, our focus as an organization is to further build our design community with strong roots for steady development and growth, hence the theme ‘ROOTS’.
While we acknowledge and strongly believe that there is a need to develop and empower upcoming designers in the field, we also aim to promote excellence and relevance in interior design among practitioners‛. she said
