Russian Olympic medalists all get luxury cars from their government

Each of the 129 Russians who won medals in individual or team events at the 2012 London Olympics have all received personalized Audis from the Russian government, with different models for gold, silver and bronze winners. Gold medalists got the Audi A8, Silver medalists - Audi A7 and Audi A6 for Bronze winners. Not only that, all the medalists were given state honors by President Vladimir Putin in a ceremony that held at the Kremlin on Wednesday.

  12. Atleast their ecomony has bounced back, courtesy of their natural gas, and they also manufacture cars. In Nigeria we cannot even manufature tookpick.

    1. How can we manufacture 'tookpick' when you can't even spell it. This country is in deep trouble.

  26. First of, its a very good incentive but let's stop comparing our atheletes and governemnt to the russians. If the Nigerian Gov't had given such incentives to our atheletes(that is if they had performed well), we would have been chanting "wasteful Government" and if they got nothing we would still complain, so please let's just leave things as they are. What has happened as happened.

  39. Nigerians! America who is much richer and more powerful than Russia, gives its athletes a presidential handshake and reception. Russia is not accountable to anyone. Nigerians are so gullible.
