Each of the 129 Russians who won medals in individual or team events at the 2012 London Olympics have all received personalized Audis from the Russian government, with different models for gold, silver and bronze winners. Gold medalists got the Audi A8, Silver medalists - Audi A7 and Audi A6 for Bronze winners. Not only that, all the medalists were given state honors by President Vladimir Putin in a ceremony that held at the Kremlin on Wednesday.
Meritocracy at its best. This is good!
ReplyDeleteHmmmnn....Quite Motivatin..unlyk Naija...for where
ReplyDeletenow thats wassup. kudos to Russian govt.
ReplyDeleteWow thats good... a good way to encourage them.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what Jonathan will do

ReplyDeleteWao dat's gud and very encouraging.
ReplyDeleteThat is motivation....Nigerian govt,learn now
ReplyDeleteOil money things
ReplyDeleteWow meanwhile the country is facing an economic crises! Lots of families in Russia living in poverty! I guess they learned this from Nigerian politicians.
ReplyDelete@ August 18, 2012 12:21 PM...u must beef. U think ur sounding rational...are you putting more effort into solving the poverty issues in russia more than the russian govt? They rewarded their youths who made them proud and ur here talking shit. Tufiakwa...
Deletehmmmm wish dat dey happen for my country
ReplyDeleteThis is wl in no doubt encourage d athletes to always bring glory to their mother land and is this not better than a golden handshake? As if na d handshake go put food on their tables, if am an athlete I wl relocate to Russia
ReplyDeleteGood gesture
ReplyDeleteAtleast their ecomony has bounced back, courtesy of their natural gas, and they also manufacture cars. In Nigeria we cannot even manufature tookpick.
ReplyDeleteHow can we manufacture 'tookpick' when you can't even spell it. This country is in deep trouble.
DeleteAbi.lolz
DeleteNice. Very motivating.
ReplyDeleteThat's good!...If na our beloved Country, you would expect a PRESIDENTIAL HANDSHAKE...Lol!
ReplyDeletePlease come back home n make us proud.
ReplyDeleteAnd our own team got nothing, at least a presidential handshake could calm some nerves
ReplyDeleteAnd our own team got nothing, at least a presidential handshake could calm some nerves
ReplyDeleteOur government too is good in giving out cars. The only problem is that the story ends there!
ReplyDeletethat will motivate the rest to do more,... Nice one
ReplyDeleteNow that's how you reward talents and hard work
ReplyDeletei wish our leaders go do desame... but our boys are not even encouraging.
ReplyDeleteI know Nigeria governmnt give out plots of land, cars and cash rewrds to Nigeria winning teams. I am sure that if Team Nigeria got a wooden medal they would have gotten s token at least. www.brandigest.wordpress.com
ReplyDeleteThat's nothing jor.. The saudi arabia girl that ran and came last was given a house and other stuffs by her government
ReplyDeleteThose Nigerian that won Gold medals many years ago are yet to get their gift. Government of Nigeria are yet to fulfill their promises to the winners. Promise of land and cars, none came to pass. yeye government
ReplyDeleteAnd they say Europe is in debt!
ReplyDeleteFirst of, its a very good incentive but let's stop comparing our atheletes and governemnt to the russians. If the Nigerian Gov't had given such incentives to our atheletes(that is if they had performed well), we would have been chanting "wasteful Government" and if they got nothing we would still complain, so please let's just leave things as they are. What has happened as happened.
ReplyDeleteLol@wooden medal..our own shld even hope for keke napep cos dey brot bak nufn..NEKS
ReplyDeleteAll these people leave comments without even thinking. Russians are suffering oooo!!! Maybe not as bad as Nigerians but come on! Why not give them a house, the value of cars depreciates every , every day, etc.
ReplyDeleteBut its still a nice gift sha
Motivational gift, dats gud gov 4 u..bt naija tried when they won youth world cup on 2005 Shaa...thumb up 4 dem

ReplyDeleteI am yet to come to terms with the fact we dint win even aluminium medal
ReplyDeleteHE AWARDED CARS TO THE MEDALIST AND AT THE SAME TIME IN A RUSSIAN ALIKALI COURT THREE YOUNG MEMBERS OF A BAND GROUP WERE JAILED FOR 2 YEARS FOR DEMANDING PUTIN RESIGNATION. THE WORLD IS NO MORE BLIND
ReplyDeleteThis is good and encouraging.
ReplyDeleteRussia for life!
ReplyDeleteBetter nation and a responsible president. I love rusia.
ReplyDeleteVladamir putin you are still my best european strong man. Protect your country well. I love your style
ReplyDeleteNigerians! America who is much richer and more powerful than Russia, gives its athletes a presidential handshake and reception. Russia is not accountable to anyone. Nigerians are so gullible.
