  3. hmmm This Dbanj and Don Jazzy thingy...it just occured to me now that Dbanj's new record label Island Def Jam Africa with initials also reads as IDJA (its Don Jazzy Again)... what is going on.

Anyway i wish both of them luck.

  4. Now we getting to the Koko..rival record labels...this was the deal signed with Kanye/LA Reid..not as recording Artist/Producer..now what made Don Jazzy not want to be part of it??..
Now why make money and be accountable to yanks..when the Artists and money is coming from Africa..cos lets be honest they not going to break the yankee market..maybe a one-off exotic thing..
Think Don Jazzy has been smart..he needs to come out of his shell and market himself..Puffy..Babyface..David Guetta..all did...

  5. no offense but i feel davido was better of on his own. with the bad publicity dbanj has been getting, its not good for a young up and coming star like davido, rather it will slow his career down. well to all his own. i wish them the best and david's dad invest in this label it will be a success.

Now y'all will see that Wande Coal is a toy mc compare to what Davido will start emitting with D'Banji's grooming, exposure and mentoring !! Wish Mavin all the best though coz Don Jazzy dont seem a bad fella, but DBanj is too hot as both an artist and a bizman to be stopped by whatever or whoever...peace y'all !

  25. I live in Monaco where they are few blacks or if any Nigerians at all. So yesterday I was in the grocery store and psquare's song 'e no easy oh' started playing on the radio station. I was too tripped, then this evening I was in cannes for the film festival activities and a convertible goes by with 2 young white dudes blasting the same songs. So I think psquare have more international star power.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Good luck to both.
Good thing for them, Nigerians don't really send voices(neither of which D'Banj nor Davido can brag about), so long as the music can make them dance

    ReplyDelete
  34. promise michealz you need an education. Can't even spell your tag properly.

  35. @ Promise michaelz dis attitude of urs is wat d illuminati wants. Give it a rest already! Ok o na hear we dey. Dat ders cultism in nija means ur hands r dirty abi? Good luck o

  36. congrats 2 dem & wen any new progress is made, most people turn blabbermouths or worse, criticize about anyfn, what has dbanj's signing of davido got 2 do wit mavin records n it causin rivalry. Its d crap people say dat fuels hostility.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Davido I hope you read this comments. I think signing to Dbanj's record label was not the smartest idea. In my opinion, I think Dbanj is done career wise. He has made a bunch of bad decisions. First signig with Kanye(not trying to be negative but I dont see his music making an impact here in the US market), the competition in naija is high now, u got to have good musical talent or creative ability. Bottom line, the reason you have been signed is as a last minute effort to redeem himself to his already diminshing fan base. Gdluck!

  38. The way people talk about illuminati, you people forget you come from a country with cults and ritualists who murder people for money.

  42. What i really think is that...dbanj signed davido simply bcos of his present hype in the music industry and wants to keep himself relevant in the industry or competetive with Mavin...Anyways....Whatever y'all do all we want is to listen to gud music.
