Sunny Neji dropped as Glo Ambassador

His picture and profile has been removed from Glo's website. His contract was not renewed after it expired sometime this year. The head of public relations, Globacom, confirmed to Punch.

"Sunny Neji is no longer an Ambassador of Globacom. The contract ended mutually and everybody is happy.

When contacted, Sunny Neji said

That's even a stale gist. I was not happy with the renewal terms and I told them I couldn't continue, so, I took a walk.

100,000 Nigerians Apply for US Visa Weekly - Embassy

The United States Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Terrence McCulley, two days ago said that over 100,000 Nigerians apply weekly to visit the US, for various reason. Of course more than half of them are denied.

100, 000 a week? Hmmmm... But when you really think about it, do you blame them? There are hundreds of thousands of graduates sitting at home doing nothing. But then again, is it any better in the US?

Lagos bank manager stabbed to death for being rude

Kenneth Udeh, the suspected killer of the manager of Spring Bank (now Keystone Bank Limited), Ebute Meta branch, Lagos, Mr. Emeka Ohazuruike, on Monday said he killed the banker because he was rude and provoked him.

He said, “Ohazuruike had been hounding me for the money which my brother-in-law had borrowed from him. The day before the incident, he threatened to involve the police and implicate me if I did not do something about it.

One million students fail 2011 WAEC exam

According to the Head of National Office (HNO), Dr. Iyi Uwadiae, out of the 1, 5 million candidates who sat for the May/June, 2011 WASCE, only 472, 906 candidates obtained five credits above including English Language and Mathematics. The implication of this results he revealed was that only 31 per cent would be eligible for admissions into tertiary institutions. He said:

“The percentage of students that made five credits with English and Mathematics is better than last year. This year like other years, the candidates have not done well. The results will not be of interest to you journalists. Many of them do ‘cut and paste’. For this year, 472, 906 candidates (30.99 per cent) obtained five credits above including English and others as against last year of 23 per cent.”

Man beats son to death

Tunde Shitta, an auto mechanic, has reportedly beat his 11-year-old son, Toib Shitta, to death.

Journalists who visited Tunde’s home at 33, Adeniyi Street, Itire, Lagos; learnt from neighbours that he had on many occassions flogged Toib, leaving him with scars. A resident, who spoke to Punch on the condition of anonymity, said Tunde visited his anger on the 11-year-old boy after his new wife reported that he (Toib) disobeyed her.

Ramsey Noah denies breaking his waist on movie set

A few weeks ago, stories spread on the internet that star actor Ramsey Noah had been involved in a life threatening accident on set of a movie in Ghana. The story was that Ramsey crash-landed on a concrete floor when he fell from a building while trying a stunt on a movie set in Kumasi. The actor has expressed dismay at the story, saying it never happened. Ramsey tells an Encomium reporter:

“It is not true at all. That is why I don’t talk to journalist because what they do is carry fake stories. People have been calling me about this issue, but I don’t say anything about it because it pisses me off. I read that I broke my waist, but all these are lies. I was in Ghana for a film shoot and on set I fell from the ladder. It was nothing serious. It’s just that the people there got scared, but nothing happened to me. And before I knew it, the story had circulated that it was life threatening. After I came back from Ghana, the next day I went to RMD’s birthday party very healthy and not bend-walking.

Ifeanyi Dike undergoes successful kidney transplant in India

Nollywood actor and board of trustees, Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), prince Ifeanyi Dike, who has been battling a life threatening ailment for over a year now has successfully undergone a kidney transplant in India, where he has been for the past six months now. The transplant was carried out on Wednesday August 3, 2011 and the actor is currently in the intensive care unit recuperating

Finally bought my dream car! Yaaay!!!

So happy! Finally bought my dream car! Yaaaay! Hold on, I think I need to rephrase that, finally bought the dream car that I can afford...the 2008 Toyota Camry. Been dreaming about this car since I first saw it two years ago, was finally able to afford it two days ago, after saving for almost four months...:-)

And the best part is, I have a blog to show it off, at least now some people go no say 'levels don change' lol.

The gunmen that killed my aide came for me – Daddy Showkey

On Tuesday July 26th 2011, armed men went to the Ojodu home of Daddy Showkey and killed one of his aides. The ghetto soldier told an encomium reporter that they were not armed robbers but hired assasins. He says:

They were not armed robbers, they were gun men. They came for me but didn't meet me at home. It was on Tuesday July 26th, the gunmen came to my house, they met my fourteen year old son at the gate and pushed him inside the compound, inside were the people working on my new house. They asked for me and they were told I wasn't home and one of them shot one of my workers, Suraji Wale on the chest. After the shooting, they left without taking anything from my house. I was told they were shouting my name 'Showkey, Showkey'. From what I heard, they'd been to my house before asking after me.

Obafemi Martin's 27 yr old brother dies of heart problems

Ace footballer, Obafemi Martins is bereaved. His older brother, 27yr old Ladi Martins, died two days ago, Monday August 8, 2011 in Lagos of suspected heart problem. Ladi himself played professionally in Europe for some years before returning back to Nigeria. He was buried yesterday at Victoria Garden Cemetary in Ajah.

So young. May his soul rest in peace...amen.

Dear Linda, I read with sadness the interview Odi granted another online site, (that is if he really said those things) and decided to react. He said in the interview that our marriage was dissolved in 2007 because I was having extra marital affairs. He's a big liar that has lost all my respect. How is this possible when our second child was delivered in September 2008? And how is it possible that our marriage ended in 2007 when we did our traditional in absentia in March 2009? (attached are pictures of our traditional marriage in Benin). Is it possible for a man to catch his wife having extra marital affairs and still pay her bride price? He paid my bride price in 2009 and I only recently found out he was also dating Mercy at the same time.

Comedian Basketmouth's wife delivers baby girl

Elsie Uzoma Okpocha, the beautiful wife of comedian Bright Okpocha aka Basketmouth, has given birth to a baby girl in the US. She gave birth on August 5th, 2011 and the couple's new bundle of joy have already been named Janelle.

Bright and Elsie, who got married in Nov 2010, already have a son named Jason. Big congrats to them.

China is Reportedly Selling Pills Made Out of Dead Babies to Enhance Stamina

There was a rumor floating around that somewhere in China, pills made out of dead babies were being sold. A Korean television documentary team decided to track down the truth behind the rumor, and found a hospital that sells dead babies, mostly abortions or stillbirths. The team found that when the hospital had a 'deceased baby case,' the staff were instructed to immediately alert the medicine company.

The television team also uncovered the process by which the dead baby pills were made. The medicine companies store the dead babies in a refrigerator until they are ready to use the dead baby, then they put it into a medical drying microwave. Once dry, they grind the dead baby up and put the powder into a pill capsule.
