Another white face painted black

A shot by Mario Sorrenti for the new V magazine.
They say it's art...maybe it is...but why not just get an actual black model to do the shoot?
Are there any jobs left for black models in Europe?

Ogun State Lawmakers ask robbers to declare temporary ceasefire...too silly!

The Ogun State House of Assembly on Wednesday appealed to armed robbers operating in the state and neighbouring ones to suspend their activities in the light of the junior World Cup going on in the country.

The Assembly reminded the robbers that any of their operations during the period of the tournament will give the country a bad name, as several foreign visitors are in the country now. Ogun is one of the states hosting teams in the competition.

The lawmakers agreed to beg the bandits during deliberations on the floor of the House, at their Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta complex. A member, Edward Ayo Odugbesan had raised an alarm that the Isheri bridge, which links Ogun with Lagos State, has become a den of bandits.

"I want to appeal to the men of the underworld to suspend their actions and operations in the interim because of our foreign visitors currently in the state," Mr. Odugbesan said. "Then they can resume thereafter, because there is nowhere in the world where robbers and robberies could be stopped from their work."

Lol at the above statement. If armed robbery is 'work', then I guess some of us need to start sending in our CVs. *hiss*

Mike Adenuga gets ETB Back

Out of the eight banks which lost their managing directors and board members in the reforms introduced by Central Bank of Nigeria's Governor, Lamido Sanusi, Equitorial Trust Bank is the only one that has reclaimed all its investments.

The managing director and other executive directors of the bank were sacked alongside the Dr. Mike Adenuga by CBN some weeks back, but the news in town is that the business man restragetised and plotted ways and means to recover his bank. He succeeded by injecting $150 million into the bank.

Reliable sources reveal that CBN agreed to hand over the bank to Adenuga because of his readiness to shore up the operating capital of the alleged troubled bank. Though CBN initially declined, they eventually had to cave in after taking into due consideration that in spite of everything, nothing criminal was traced to Adenuga.

I've never particularly seen singer Chris Brown as a sex symbol but there's something so fresh and so clean about him in this picture...

This is one of his promo pics for his upcoming album 'Graffiti' which will be released December 15, 2009.

He looks sad but still delicious. The finest I've seen him :-)
You likey likey?

Genevieve and Omotola's new movie 'Ije'

"IJE tells a tale of Chioma, a child growing up in the Nigerian countryside, who warned her restless sister, Anya, about the trappings of the American Dream. Now ten years later, Anya is accused of killing three men in a Hollywood Hills mansion—one of them her record producer-husband. Chioma travels from Nigeria to Los Angeles, and with the help of a young, unproven attorney, discovers that the dark secret her sister wants to keep hidden might be the only thing that can win her freedom."

Genevieve and Omotola - Nice combination
Nice plot...different from the norm...
It will be released in March 2010...
Totally looking forward it...
Thoughts?

Kidnappers demand N500 million for Soludo's father

Father of the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Chukwuma Soludo, Mr. Simon Nwankwo was kidnapped on Tuesday Oct 27th 2009, in his hometown of Isuofia in Aguata local government Area by a six-man gang who came in a Peugeot 406 saloon car.

The kidnappers of the 78-year old man are demanding the sum of N500 mSillion as ransom before they would release the father of the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2010 Anambra Sate governorship election.

N500 million?
There's something extremely wrong with kidnapping a man who's almost 80...and didn't do anything wrong.
How do you think we can curb kidnapping in Nigeria?

Shoe-shaped bathtub

Italian designer Massimiliano Della Monaca created this shoe-shaped bathtub covered with precious glass mosaic in a style that stands out from the rest of the traditional geometric shapes. The water falls above the bather's head and massages the shoulders as it flows into the basin.

Starting at $17,000, the bathtub is shaped like an elegant pump shoe with a skyscraper heel, it allows for a perfect soak.

If you could afford it, would you buy it?
