Mohammed Babangida's interview + Jay Z&B's prenup and Celeb photoshop pix

If you guys know how tired I am right now...you won't believe I'm blogging. I got home late from a hectic day. Was lying in my bed when I realised I haven't blogged since Saturday. Well, I have mad love for most of you...lol...so I'm gonna do a bit of it before I go to bed.

Thankfully my sis bought this week's Encomium magazine. There's a lot of gist in it but I will only give you the interview Mohammed Babangida granted the magazine...
I will get you the Naija Ent. news later. Enjoy!

Mohammed Babangida Speaks on new marriage
How does it feel to be married a second time?
MB " It feels good. We thank God for sparing our lives to see this day. Everything in life is predestined to happen. If this is the wish of Almighty Allah, then so be it. And we pray that it becomes a peaceful marriage and it bears the fruit of beautiful and wonderful children that will be the joy and happiness of our lives.

Why did you go for a second wife when your father did not marry a second wife? Where did you pick the trait from?
MB "I don't know. As you can imagine, everybody has his path in life that he has to follow and it may not be the same as those that form the immediate core of your family. It could be very different. Again, it is something that is prescribed by the religion. It is supported strongly by the religion. I think most people should just pray that it ends up being a happy union.

First wife, Rahama
What was your parents reaction when you told them you were getting married a second time?
MB "Naturally, they will be curious. But it had not been a discussion of today, so they will leave everything to the will of God because such things you really don't have much control over"

What about your first wife, Rahama, what was her reaction when you told her you were getting married to another woman?
MB "Naturally, you have all these issues. There's always going to be some form of discomfort there, but over time, because we have this strong belief in our God and religion, we just have to allow things to take its course"

Polo loving Mohammed
Can you tell us how your relationship with your new wife started?
MB "It started a long time ago in 1995 and then there was a gap. I got married to my first wife and the gap became wider, and just by sheer luck, everything came back and we just said look, we have been around and we've known each other for so long, let's go and give it a shot"

What actually attracted you to her?
MB "I think it more about her personality and commitment. She is a very committed person. Whatever she focuses on she stays focused on it."

With second wife, Umma

What is it that you see in her that you don't see in your first wife?
MB "I think everybody is unique. There are so many things that I see in my first wife that I won't see in her and vice versa. And no one individual is one hundred per cent complete and it is a complementary relationship. So each person is unique"

To another related story...
Rahama Babangida breaks down over Mohammed's second marriage
-Moves out of matrimonial home
As written by Encomium magazine
"Despite Mohammed Babangida's claim that his first wife Rahama, was just a little bit uncomfortable about his second marriage to Umma, his childhood lover, there are indications that the home front of the first son of Nigeria's former military president, is in serious trouble.

Informed sources disclosed to encomium weekly that Rahama is more than uncomfortable with her husband of four years for picking wife no 2 and this threw the home of General Babangida into a serious confusion last week. Reliable sources confided in us that Rahama was so sad about the development that she could not contain herself.
We learnt that Rahama wept profusely on Friday April 25th 2008, when it dawned on her that her husband would actually be getting married to another woman. And when it became obvious that she could no longer hold herself, we were told that Rahama left the family's hilltop mansion for Abuja. We learnt that Mohammed who came home from Kano on Sat. April 26th, was particularly disturbed when he got home and met his kids crying and also discovered Rahama had left home. We were told he tried Rahama's phone to no avail. This development we were told resulted in a kind of delay and Mohammed did not show up at his wedding reception until around 1 am the following morning.
On Thursday May 1st, we called to speak with the troubled on the whole issue but we were unsuccessful. A lady who referred to herself as one of Rahama's sisters said it is not true that Rahama abandoned her matrimonial home.
End of the story...
"You better be careful what you do to me...'cos it might turn around on you"
Question: If you were Rahama, would you stay or leave?

Anyway, from that marriage let's move to another married couple...
Their prenup is...? Read and let's know what you think...
Beyonce and Jay Z's prenup

“The R&B/pop diva, who is worth a reported $100 million, inked a prenuptial agreement with new hubby Hov that could result in a $25 million payday for Bey. The longer Beyonce stays married to S. Carter, the more money he pays. The thirty-eight year old Carter’s net worth is estimated at $300 million.

Jay-Z adores Beyonce, and was pretty much willing to give her almost anything she wanted. The prenup calls for Jay-Z to pay Beyonce $10 million if the marriage ends after two years, and $1 million a year for each further year she remains in the marriage, up to fifteen years.

Beyonce would be granted access to their private jet and a fleet of cars, which includes a $1 million 1959 Rolls Royce convertible,’ a tabloid snitch claims.

Jay’s thrown in a few incentives for having children: He’s promised to pay her an additional $5 million for each child she bears for him-for her loss of income during pregnancy and child-rearing years.”

Hopefully the marriage will last for always. They make an incredible couple.
What do you guys think of this prenup?

Celeb pix: Before and After Photoshop
...na wa for oyibo magic o...lol. Enjoy!

Film trick... lol

Photo of the day

Mrs Nick Cannon. 38year old Mariah Carey recently married 27yr old Nick Cannon...I still find it hard to believe...when did they date? Good for them though. Her body is delicious in this pix...photoshop too maybe lol.

I must be the only...whatever...in the world who didn't know that British singer, songwriter, arranger, and producer, Lynden David Hall of the 'Sexy Cinderella' fame died two years ago on February 14th 2006. In October 2003, he was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma; he died at the age of 31, from complications resulting from the stem cell transplant he received in January 2005. Lynden was in remission at the time of his death
Only heard about his death some days ago and it saddens me deeply. Two years ago and I never even heard about it? Such a painful loss. May his beautiful soul rest in peace...Amen!

when married to a Muslim you should expect such after all their religion permits it. Although it hurts but mohammed should have married his first lover and save rahamma all the emotional tears

and to your question, should she leave or not . She is the first wife and whether it's a christens or Muslim marriage I know God recognizes the first wife. So she should take solace in God alone and not man. she should stay and take care of her kids

I dont think I believe the encomium story sha.... It sounds just made up because that is what would be expected of Rahama or any woman.

One thing I find odd is that it says she moves out of their hilltop home in Minna. That is a lie! Mohammed and Rahama live in Kaduna & have done so since their marriage. You can find him riding or sometimes playing polo every other day at the Polo Club and she is usually in tow.

If I was myself, I might stay in the marriage but if I am Rahama I would leave. There is nothing that the Babangida family can offer that her father cant give.

He is a billionaire. He has 2 private jets and is a personal friend of the Bush family and many world leaders. In 1990 Ebony Nigeria special edition, he was profiled as one of Nigeria's biggest tycoons along with Abiola and Iwuayanwu. Link is here http://www.encyclopedia.com/doc/1G1-8325395.html

She is also extremely beautiful. This stunner can get another man easily so if i was her and had her beauty, I would leave!

Ah, that reception story na original bobo!! first of all, the dates were wrong and secondly this wedding & reception were shown on NTA Newsline and Bisi Olatilo this weekend now. No be FUNKY MALLAM dey sing yahooze wey all of them dey dance so. No be Aisha Babangida give the opening remarks. No be Aminu Akilu give speech on behalf of friends.no be Aminu Babangida give vote of thanks wey Bisi Olatilo talk sey d whole world is waiting for Aminu's wedding (Not the world bisi, just u bloody psycophant).

All of that did not look like 1am and for something that was so clearly paraded on tv, Encomium should not be lying now.

I really feel for rahamma, especially when it is an ex lover, is really painful and heart breaking and that also means he has been seeing umma even after his marriage to rahamma but she also ought to know that her religion permits more than a wife.

Linda this is actually my first comment on your blog though i have always been visiting it. I'm always delighted seeing your wonderful acheivements knowing that you are my name sake but i chose sonia(conformational name) over linda(baptismal name).
Guess i'll be more regular on your blogsite. Take kare.

Well done Linda and thanks for your love for your readers. Also thanks for keeping us in diaspora up to date. On IBB's son's 2nd marriage, why are we ladies doing this to ourselves. What goes round comes round.

lol...these photoshopped pics aren't even that dramatic...i barely noticed n e difference w/ beyonce's? I think the first was the first photoshopped copy while the second was the final touch. I read this mab once where they showed these celebs without makeups on, and boyyyyyy, u would so love living in ur own skin after u saw some of their pics.lol.

As for babangida's son...hissss...dude keeps using religion as excuse, isnt it the same religion that his father is committed to? did he remarry? I feel sorry for rahama tho....i just cant imagine sharing my man with another woman while enjoying the benefits and living with that woman in the same house!

Linda, hope you won't start another war episode with this thread. My ten kobo on the marriage issue, this is what happens when parents don't let their children marry the person that they truly wanted to marry in the first place. I am not surprised, I was waiting to see if Mohammed will follow Kola Abiola's step and marry his love and he did. I think parents should stop meddling in their children's affair and avoid unnecessary dramas that could have been avoid in the first place but again we are Nigerians and we love dramas, we live by dramas and entertain ourselves with dramas.

Hi Linda. I came across & bookmarked your blogsite during a research on 'FEMALE GENITAL MUTILATION'.

MB and 'his wives' are adults, with sound mind and the ability to make informed decisions on their lives.

Marriage should be a commitment based on both parties' substance, mutual respect, inner & outer beauty, intelligent propensity, and inner strength IN TIMES OF CRISES.

The 'marriage' between Jay-Z and Beyonce appears to be based on possession and acquisition of the person and goodies. No offence intended.

It is good to be wealthy, but not extraordinary. We all need wealth around us. However, the very wealthy need to strive more for the camel to pass through the eye of the needle. Good luck to Mohammed Babaginda, Beyonce, Jaz-Z, & co.

i heard since Mohammed married Umma, they never consumated the marriage. he was never with her and this is exclusive, they r divorced now...from a very reliable source.
if u look at it, since they got married, has anyone ever seen them together!!!
Ummah's family are so ashamed of it, that they r tring to keep it on a hush hush.
a juicy story like this, everyone has the right to know!!!
